      Where are we?
    DO NOT USE THIS!!!!!!!!!
    WIPE /MISC INSTEAD.

    ---
This is the fix for I factory reset from settings and now I am stuck in recovery

ONLY WORKS ON THE LG SLIDER FROM VIRGIN MOBILE AND THE LGL55C FROM STRAIGHT TALK.

This flashable zip is the stock LG Slider Recovery image. Be VERY carefull... If there is anything wrong with your rom itself this will brick your phone... Once you flash this zip you will no longer have CWM recovery so if your rom does not boot your will have a really expensive paperweight!!

If all you did was factory reset from settings this is the FIX.

    Download the zip
In cwm go to  >> Mounts and storage  and choose >> mount usb
Plug in your usb cable and copy the zip to your sd but not in a folder
Go to >> install zip from sd >> and choose this zip
When it is done installing go ahead and reboot
After the phone boots to android you will need to reinstall CWM (preferably TWRP) recovery the same way you did it the first time.

Thank you so much for your post and zip file, wasn't sure if it was going to work, but at this point I was already looking at new phones, figured couldn't hurt it any worse then it already is, but now it's back and I'll make sure I do it the right way this time. Once again thank you.

I can't thank you enough!!! If you are looping back to CWM on every reboot, this is definitely the solution. If you have the Q, don't worry about flashing the Kernel. Just flash the Rom & then the attachment on the original post by Rhg135. Works like a charm!!!

Man, this worked for me and saved my phone. If you factory reset through privacy settings, you may get an issue with bootlooping into recovery, which happened to with me.

To fix this, flash arearomq v1.4, then flash zip file from original post by zhg135. You will now be on Arearom v1.4, but you need to re-install CWM through terminal emulator. Hope this helps, and thanks again to the person(s) who found the fix.

So after moving on to the Galaxy Note on AT&Fee, I decided to sell my rooted LG Optimus Q. A nice women who was new to android bought it and my wife' stock one.  Wife's old one had no problems switching to her new number/account. I had no idea that the she'd have problems updating her new service on the rooted one before hand but it would not take at all. I walked her though using one of my old nandroid backups and viola, it updated and she was able to make a call. Then, right as we were about to get off the phone, she went to wipe from privacy :(

after re-restoring backups and trying to reflash, and spending about 2 hours on the phone I told her I'd come by tomorrow  to work on it some more. I finally stumbled upon this (Godsend). I'll be trying this sometime tomorrow. Hopefully it works out.

Just to confirm, the wipe should work from within CWM, just not from within Privacy settings correct? I'm thinking about putting her back on my rooted stock backup so that it looks the same as the other phone. I may not after all the hell I just went through and just leave it working :)  Thanks again!!!!

Thanks so much for this fix... it worked perfectly on my slider!

Now I just have to wait a day or so to switch my service back to my slider again, unless you have a fix for that too. :)

Hey rhg135 do you think if you have time you could possibly email me all the files associated with this fix or at least the links to them? I couldn't find any in this thread and am having the exact same cwm bootloop problem. Please I really need help with this. :(

I noticed it says the stock recovery is for the slider. Does anyone have a stock recovery image for Q I've been looking but so far have not seen one. Sorry if I missed it but if someone has stock recovery for the Q could you please post it here or send me a pm

It says slider too.... Anyway this will install the stock recovery if I remember right.
Why do you need the stock recovery?
If you want to go stock, I think you can flash the stock rooted rom and then flash this fix.

It says slider too in the title but he specifically states "flash my zip(restores stock SLIDER recovery)" in his post. I might try it and see though.

And yes and no on the returning to stock lol I'm trying to come up with an easier way to flash recovery after rooting. I've already found an easy way to root without a pc but wanted to put it through the paces a couple more times and make sure I can make the flash recovery step easier ;)

And no I'm not a total noob to this I have put out a couple guides and rom mods for my score(wich you can find me in the score forums on Cricketusers, UPP, and AF) I'm just new to this phone lol A friend actually just gave me their old one so I thought I'd play with it a little :)

Ya it is a little unclear... I should have said it works for the Q and the slider too  ;D
CWM is super easy to flash as it is, but I would like to see what you come up with...
Are you thinking about making a update.zip to flash with the stock recovery or something?

Lol that makes sense. Are those two phones the same just for diff carriers? That's how the cricket and metro pcs score is and the recovery for one worked on either but the roms are way diff lol.

Lol maybe not quite so easy as an update zip but my goal is to make it so there's no terminal commands or pc involved or needed as that's what seems to trip most up lol But personally I agree it's already super easy but I'm used to usin terminal lol the only part of the current guide I noticed that didn't seem well laid out was that you can't copy flash_image to system/bin without installing busybox first as the cp binary was not on my phone to start with. But I already knew that before I even tried lol so it wasn't a prob for me lol

Anywho thanks for the info and reply it's much appreciated ;)
