Hroark13 is porting CM9 to the prevail, CyanogenMod ICS I am tring to get in contact with him to see if there is some way we can work together on this and get it on Prevail and Precedent at same time so that will probably be the only way to get ICS on the Precedent.. and I will say it will prolly be Stripped down some as ICS is rather Large, and I am unsure the Precedent and prevail have enough space to HOLD everything for it...

to put the cwm on the prevail is tricky, you gotta flash it with odin and then get to recovery before it fully reboots, then you have run the enclosed blahblah.zip to fully flash cwm on it and make it stick... or you could CHEAT and use the AR BootLoader odin but then you would have to flash a ext4 compatible rom right after or the phone wont boot up, as the kernel and cwm are setup for ext4 partition to be 100% Honest i think AreaRom will run on that Phone with Little to No Modification as they are pretty much the same phone (minor differences)

How are you running CM9? I'm not being skeptical, I'm just curious as to how you got it to work on the Precedent...I don't know much about coding or programming, I'm just a power user lol

OK so this is how it went. Kinda slow but not to bad. GPS and mms worked for me. Couldn't get wifi to connect. And the battery stayed around 125 degrees

I know this is kind of off topic, but it's on the business of porting, is there any way to port lock screens from other ROMs to AOSP ROMs?

The precedent doesn't have the specs to properly run ics.Roms can add features and improve our phones, but Roms can't add more ram or a faster processor.

It says that CM9 is still missing Video playback, MMS over WIFI, and Camera. Just can't sacrifice that much....

I support the guys here.I was always a little cautious of using cyanogen as its a rom that isn't really made for the precedent.it was modded to work with the precedent.arearom is made for this phone.droidhost borrowed some things from the boost version phone but they are basically the same phone aside from cosmetic differences.
