    BEST root method elsewhere.
    Follow at your own risk

First off I'd like to say I take no credit for this besides finding it and sharing with everyone here.
Note: Changed the URL's to adf.ly links, if I'm not allowed let me know and I'll post original links.

    1. Download the following:
Stock Kernal You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Pre-root Kernal You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Odin You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Samsung Drivers You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

    2. Install the drivers if needed

    3. Open ODIN

    4. Put phone in Download mode (from being powered off, Volume down + power)

    5. In the PDA bot select the pre-root kernal and click "Start"
Now you aren't done yet. This pre-boot has a bug with wireless signals so Wifi and cellular service isn't availble

    6. Put phone back in Download mode (step 4)

    7. Now in ODIN instead of selecting the pre-root kernal select the Stock kernal and click "Start"

    8. If done correctly, install SuperUser and BusyBox from the market and run a root app (I used a root checker), you should be rooted!

    Enjoy your root!

I may post pictures tomorrow. Just wanted to get this up before I went to bed.

PS: Just realized this was already posted. If need be delete this.

I used this root method on my proclaim with version S720C.01 VLI02 Sept 2012.
Root seems to be working well at this time.
I also did the SD Card fix.

    Thanks

I'm trying using the above version but Odin just gets stuck in SetupConnection and nothing happens.  When in "download" mode is it supposed to have options like
    reboot system now
    apply update from sdcard
    wipe data...
    etc?

Its just to bad that this method of rooting the proclaim leaves it with a Secure Kernel so its still almost impossible to remove some to most of the bloatware, to remedy that i have Posted a UNSECURE ROOTED STOCK PROCLAIM KERNEL that you do not need to change out leaving the file system fully unlocked...

I've got an issue. No matter how many times I've tried(To the exact letter of the instructions) my phone never claims to be rooted using 2 seperate root checkers. I'm growing tired of searching again and again to only have the same problem so I'm wondering if I can get support on this. I want to get this done but can't seem to figure it out. Everything goes smoothly as it should but no root.

    My baseband is: S720C.01 VLI02

U must wait til dh makes a ak51 kernel for that actual baseband cause if u flash the ak51 kernel v1 from the post u will have an MEID uknown.

Not unless if u flash the ak51 kernel proclaim v1 thats posted on the thread then flash the fix kernel (stockLI02) but i dont guarantee though so i suggest to wait til further notice..
