I normally Area 51 is responsible for anything negative done to your phone.

Got throttled? This will help. Must have root and a root file explorer app such as ES.

On device go to Data/system/throttle. Delete the throttle file in the throttle folder. Then change the permissions on the throttle folder to user-read only. Viola.

My speeds have definitely increased. :))

Let me know. I appreciate help.
Only works RARELY, and even then, ONLY if on T-Mobile network.

99% of the time, the throttling happens at the carriers servers, so this method is less than useless

Hmm.......very interesting indeed.  I'd love nothing more to try your advice concerning the throttle, however, still very new to all the mods, etc.

Rooted a few days back. Right now Im still just exploring my Z990g files. Always feard Id destroy it. I've rooted by using Out of Ideas DexMeritRoot.zip, installed TouchNavRecovery....after that both myself and a friend tried Out of Ideas Ics Icecream Scamwhich. She is still running it, and Im currently back to just the Dex Merit with and overclocked kernel (kernel suggested by Stayboogy) Attempted the custom steel blue rom (until I somehow disabled my music player & accidently reverted to Factory instead sometime last night. This morning I decided to rock on with what Im working with until I get more insight on things (best choice at the moment lol)

However........this thread really interest me greatly.
Could you (if you dont mind) please explain how Id rewrite the file to read only?
I admit Ive been trying to figure all the commands out and what not...... just need a lil friendly advice to start me off.

Thank you in advance :) :D
