Use the phone. You know calls, messages, browsing, games, etc.

The main point of root is to do things that the OEM doesn't want you to do.

Like remove apps you don't use, replace apps with alternates (like different launchers), do full backups (tools like Titanium Backup).

CWM gives you a better recovery, one that you can use to make ROM backups and/or change ROMs.

TB takes up to much space & isn't very useful. Nandroid manger is more useful for this device. I normal just put my apps in as a system app & update to data until I've tested it then I can decide to move the new app to system or uninstall the update with nothing lost.

I was being more generic as to what you can do with root.

TB is a great tool in some settings. I used it last night to move an app from one device to one that was listed as incompatible on Google. Easier than messing with prop files to trick Google. I've used it before to move apps and all the associated settings and data between devices. All done without having to reboot the devices.

I've no experience with the tool you mention,  but it sounds like another example of the tools that you can use with root that can't be used (effectively) w/o.

Yes it is a root tool. really never thought about transferring the app & it's data too another device. I usually just Bluetooth the app or push it with adb. I know others that like that app but I just don't care for it. My opinion & it is a opinion is that that it is way to big of a app & isn't a good tool for this phone. Of course I can do everything it does myself through adb or ES File Explore.

Really wish Google would allow you to download all apps. If they were to make you push another button to agree the app wasn't recommended for your device.

Me too. But it's not just Google.

The app developers set limits too. That's why B&N won't let you install the Nook reader app on a tablet that identifies as a Nook through the PlayStore. Sucks if you are running an alternate ROM (like CM10.x) and you want to access B&N content.

And the latest one I had was a medical lab results app that inexplicably was not compatible with my newer Nook running CM10.1 but was fine with my old tablet running ICS, doesn't have BT, and doesn't play well with Win8/adb.

Anyway, back on topic. TB was just an example of what you use root for that was fresh on my mind from dealing with that app a few days prior.

I probably wouldn't use it on these low end phones where app space is limited.

Hi, I just rooted my LGL38C(E400(?)), and I have a problem. I used superoneclick I downloaded here, and followed all the steps for rooting. So, I tried to power up my phone. But it's stuck with LG logo screen. I can't even enter recovery mode(center button + volume down + power). I tried to power it up without battery(on my PC with cable), without SIM card, without microSD card(lol), but still nothing works. My PC(windows 7 ultimate x86) is not recognizing my phone, so pretty much I am stuck and need your help.

What can you recommend?

Thanks in advance.
