This is a great 7" tablet for less than $150 bucks after tax. It stacks up nicely to Google's Nexus 7 and I've found it a joy to use, especially after it's been rooted and removed of bloat ware from this WALMART EXCLUSIVE device. It's little known as far as I can tell but there has been some dev support. I would LOVE to see an AreaROM for this device! A custom kernel from nightshack0 (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and CWM, root, and rom from xda's xboxexpert.

CWM and root installer: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
XE-Sero7ROM US/UK (w/ TabletUI) v2: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The guides written by xboxexpert are very informative and comprehensibleI thought I might be able to expand upon them but after reviewing said guides I really can't see any room for improvement. I did have trouble with the ADB debugger however, though this link really helped me out with that: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Thanks go out to xboxexpert for CWM/ROM/root/, nightshack0 for kernel, and howtogeek.com for the ADB guide. Your hard work is appreciated.

Here are some screen shots of my Sero 7. I have it set up with the tablet UI and applied a ccyanogenmod like theme to Apex launcher. (Included in XE-Sero7ROM) I personally prefer ADWLauncher that's included in AreaRom 1.0b, but any launcher is better than the stock in my opinion.

Blank space had a bad word:)

As you can see I run a few widgets and maintain decent ram usage.

I LOVE tablet UI setup. HATE phone UI on a tablet.

Screen of tablet UI without cyan theme.

To the devs here at Area 51: I absolutely would love to see an AreaROM for this device. Everything I've ever seen put out from here was grade A stuff. Not to mention smooth as butter in ways that are hard to explain. I really love the apps daddy366 included in his mod for the centura ROM and the ROM itself, (Droid Host's work), was absolutely fantastic. Fast and efficient. If an AreaROM was created for this device would it require the stock kernel or would nightshack0's work with it? And could you include a tablet UI that's compatible, or would I be SOL on that one?

I know kernel work is difficult and way beyond me but maybe someone here can create an alternative to nightshack0's. Not that there is anything wrong with that one, just nice to have options. I would really like to see support for App2SD, Over/Underclocking, Swap, and OTG + Charging support. (Not sure what you'd actually call that.) (Or can anyone tell me if any or all of those features are supported with NS0's kernal? I know App2SD is not.) I'm sure that's a wishlist for just about any device. Let me know what you guys think. I would be more than happy to assist in anyway possible.

Thanks again to xboxexpert and nightshack0. Seriously good work folks. And thank you AA51 for giving me a community to share all this with. (And maybe making that ROM/Kernel:) )
