Is it the international or AT&T version?

If it's the AT&T version I have a nice link that should help save it.

Hi this same thing happened to me.  My phone is stock but unlocked by at&t Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-i777.  My battery was almost dead and then it was like frozen so I changed to another battery. I've been using an external battery charger lately.  Now it is like this. I tried fully charging the battery. I tried taking the sim and sd card out. i tried taking the battery out.  I tried something from another site that said if you hold the vol+ button or vol+ and vol- it will go into "download mode" and be fixed but that did not work.  It will go into safe mode while pressing vol+ vol- and pow. together.  I also tried re-starting it from the safe mode menu. I don't want to factory reset it yet until I'm sure that there is no other way. I saw some posts where people with this problem did factory resets and they still had the same problem!  AzHavick if you could hlep me, I would be so grateful.
    Thanks all in advance.
