    I flashed arearom 3.0 on my galaxy prevail (yes, the prevail from boost mobile) and I noticed that it could be overclocked to 988MHz.
    Is it possible to just get that kernel alone?
    Many thanks, creed10 :)

    I went back to 2.3 of all the arearoms,2.3 is the most stable on my phone.plus I somehow got video streaming to work on 2.3..I sideloaded the flash player and now I can use crackle.still can't get songpop to work but that's probably a RAM issue.

    My phone doesn't get warm or hot at 900mhz using the AK51 OC kernel on 2.3
    It did with all the other variations.
    I tried a VM heap on this device and it responded by going very flaky.did not like it at all.

    Sorry to revive this old thread...

    You can't really compare the effects of overclocking to adjusting the VM heap size, since they are quite different things. Personally, I depend on my phone to function, so I will not overclock and risk CPU damage. However, adjusting the VM heap has helped with some issues that I had with some larger apps.

    What did you set the heap for? I find my Precedent likes a VM heap of 32-48m and start the heap around 8m.

    Easy enough to change with setprop or modify build.prop lines (on any rom):

    dalvik.vm.heapsize=32m
    dalvik.vm.startheapsize=8m

    i cant really remember..i think it was like 40 something?anyway..arearom 3.5 has the VM set at 32 so its a noticeable leap from earlier builds.you really don't need to OC 3.5 at all.it would just be overkill.
