    ==============================================================================

    Installation Instructions (For Dummies)
*I strongly recommend you take advantage of A2SD and the extra internal storage that comes with it!*

    Intro:
This rom uses A2SD to optimize internal space.
-A2SD when used properly will increase Internal Storage a ton. (I've currently got 180mb of free Internal)
-A2SD works by creating symbolic links and moves the majority of app data to the sd card as well as dalvik if you want.
-This rom uses A2SD by default (if you partition properly)...removing the sd card will cause a loss of Apps added outside      of the rom itself.
    ie user apps.

However, the use of a2sd will not degrade performance at all...it simply frees a ton of internal storage.

You Need To Download AreaRomQ v1.4.zip
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPARTITION THE SDCARD IF YOU HAVE CREATED AN SD PARTITION IN THE PAST!!!

    Section One:
Okay so you want to use A2SD... AWESOME!

    Follow These Steps Exactly!!!
Step 1:Backup all the data on your sd card you want to save to your computer.
Step 2: Reboot into recovery/Boot into recovery
(You do so by powering the phone off. Holding down the physical home button below the screen,
the volume rocker down button, and finally the power button all at the same time until you enter
                 ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery)
Step 3: In CWM/ClockWorkMod recovery go to the advanced option and select "Partition SD Card"
Step 4:Select your partition size. (I recommend 512mb though 1024mb will work depending on what you're trying to do)
Step 5:Select a 0mb swap partition size. (Swap is more harm than beneficial. DONT USE IT!)
What you did here was create an ext4 partition on your sd card for a2sd to use.
Step 6:Go to Mounts and Storage in CWM and select "mount USB storage"
Step 7: Restore your sd card data.
*Including the rom you want to flash*
IF EVERYTHING HAS GONE RIGHT UP UNTIL NOW PROCEED TO STEP 8... if not start over...
Step 8:Go ahead and wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache and wipe data/factory reset.
Step 9:Flash your rom... (install .zip from sd card)
Step 10: When the phone boots up enter your account information and let it sit until sync finishes...
-i.e. let the phone sit for a few minutes after putting your account info in.
(Your signal bars will be cyan and the sync icon will dissapear from the Notification/Status Bar)
Step 11: Open Terminal Emulator (It's preinstalled!) and type "su" *without quotation marks* and press enter.
-Grant Terminal Emulator SuperUser Permissions (HIT YES)
Step 12: Type "a2sd cachesdreset" and hit enter.
The phone will now reboot. It will take awhile...don't panic! The phone is moving and building Dalvik-Cache onto the SD.
Step 13: I recommend rebooting the phone after moving dalvik to the sd. Meaning... you let the phone boot up after it reboots from
the "a2sd cachesdreset" command. Then reboot the phone one more time. This helps the phone get adjusted to the rom and all the
benefits that come with it. :)

Thats it! A2SD is now properly enabled and working *Go ahead and check your internal storage :)*
Proceed to restore your TiTanium Backup of your apps...
In TiBackup hit the menu key and select Batch. Then Run "Restore Missing Apps With Data"
    ---Thats it :)

Congratulations you're now running AreaRomQ v1.4 with A2SD enabled!!!

    Release Notes:

    To Maintain the rom:

Go to terminal and type su
Grant SuperUser permissions and type vac
This will vacuum your .db's that may become fragmented overtime. Don't pay attention to any errors you see.

Go to terminal and type su
Grant SuperUser permissions and type sclean
This will clean and rebuild your dalvik-cache on startup (it will reboot). It will take awhile to reboot do not worry... that's normal.

I recommend running the above once a week.

To make use of the ChainFire3d Rendering, open the app. Install its driver, let the phone reboot. Then go to NightMode and set a color in the app. Enjoy...

      I LOVE TO ARGUE
I personally set it to performance (our phones are semiunique in that our kernel is automatically governed to performance.) Performance makes the CPU run at 800mhz at all times. I noticed when it was Kernel Side governing though it ran into some hiccups at wake/sleep. Eg some lag with the Gingerbread screen-on and screen-off animations. I set mine to performance (800mhz) and the I/O scheduler to Noop. Using those settings ive capped an antutu benchmark at 1704 and am regularly maintaining high 16's. This is about optimal for these phones running a deodexed modded stock rom using a2sd. Honestly a2sd reduced benchmarks about 30-40 points. However, this isn't noticable enough to make the added 100mb or so of internal storage (over stock) not worthy of being in the final.

Small note... I got the 1704 (viewable in the screenshot I provided in another thread) with dalvik moved to the sd, while using arearomq v1.4 with no-frills-cpu running. Protip: If you need an extra speed boost you can go into Terminal and type
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
su ... grant super user permissions and type
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
start super_service . It will not drain your battery any faster (if it does its a marginal drain (maybe 2-3% over the course of a day)) but you'll get a nice little speed boost.

You can check if the above is working by typing
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
cat /proc/*/cmdline | grep Super exactly as its written there. If you see Super and then /data/99SuperCharger.sh or anything else below Super you're good to go. Now I cannot make that run constantly nor always at boot. I've tried and tried. It's baked into the Kernel and there's an init.d script and a script in /data obviously forcing it. But, it still doesn't like to run constantly...not sure why. However, if you need an added boost, or you're just interested in playing around, try it out. Enjoy :)

Edit: Also on MY phone. I go to Settings and then Extra Settings. I like setting my Window and Transition animations to Fast. Thats just my personal preference but I enjoy the smoothness of the animations then.

.9 optimization makes the apks more efficient. However, I doubt you'll notice too much. If you have apk manager or apk multitool, you can .9 optimize after your edits. Just find the code and put it in the appropriate folder. Then take the files from the .apk and put them in the original apk deleting/replacing the old ones.

Great ROM, have been using since 1.2... However, is there a way to change the launcher icon to the original from the alien head? Everything else looks great BTW, I'm rebooting the a2sd cache right now...

IF you give me the .apk's I'll make it a flashable .zip for everyone. And I'll incorporate it into AreaRomQ v1.5 and make it one of the themed releases... but I'd like it if you removed WolfBitten from the Header. I'll gladly credit you both at the flash of the rom and in the release post, but I don't even put my nick in the rom outside of that.

      I LOVE TO ARGUE
Alright... well I've looked through the theme. It's no problem to get this implemented. Ill have to go through and retheme some of it. I'll work on it tomorrow for everyone. WolfBitten, the PowerOn and PowerOff sounds you gave me are cool, but I can't put those in a final product. I'm not sure how the older members of the site would feel about it. But, I'll go through and start implementing it into AreaRomQ tomorrow. And I'll test it. When I finish all of that I'll turn it into a flashable .zip for everyone if they want to try it out. You need to hit the Music.apk too. The phone.apk isn't touched in arq. Thats simply the contacts.apk doing everything. Um, I'm trying to think of what else. The Deskclock.apk is themed, and a few of the app icons... Mail.apk Deskclock.apk Music.apk etc neeed to be gotten to. As far as the images you cant hit I can do those.

Ill work on the red theme. I was gonna port wolfbittens work over today, but I got side tracked trying to get cm7 working on the q. I have a cm7 aosp 2.3.7 rom and an ics cm9 aokp rom but I can't debug them. Its really aggravating. Anyways ill get to the red theme today or tomorrow. Take it easy.
