Note: The tools found in the download are
provided by Google, found in Android SDK.

Like the quote says, the people over at dottech pulled adb and fastboot from the sdk and packaged it up. I used this for a long time before downloading the full SDK.

Note: This is for Windows. I'll need to do the linux one myself, including a script that will install it for you. I hope that this will save a bunch of time for beginners as they don't need the whole SDK to use adb.

How do I run this or install on Windows?

    I see no setup file

    Edited to add :

If I just run the file ADB.exe I get a dos window on screen for a fraction of a second, with messages in it, then it closes again before I have a chance to read anything.

Launch the command prompt from within the directory that adb is in, or use cd to go into the directory. Then you can use adb.
