To remove stock apps using root explorer/es file explorer/ect... first scroll down to the sdcard folder and open it, then click the menu button and select new folder, create a name for it (i called it deleted but you can use w/e you like).

Now click back. At the very top you'll see mounted as r/o (in a grey box mount r/w) click that. it should now say mounted as r/w (in a grey box mount r/o)

Next scroll down to the system folder and open it then open app folder. When you get to the app you want to remove long press till the menu comes up and select move or delete. If you selected move then push the back button twice (this will take you back to the main menu) then scroll down to the sdcard folder and open it find the file you just created and open it then click paste and your done.
    Lather Rinse Repeat! =)

This is a list that ive been compiling of stock apps that are safe to remove without ramifications to other apps or processes.

    1) Browser.apk - lets face it the stock browser is boring remove it and replace it with something that atleast supports tabing like opera, dolphin, chrome, ect...

    2) Contacts.apk - replaced with go contacts\go dialer

    3) Dun.apk - so far it hasnt had any effect on my phone some forums say it effects wifi tether but i havent noticed a change.

    4) Email.apk - replaced with k-9

    5) Gmail.apk - also replaced with k-9

    6) GenieWidget.apk - didnt see a need for news apps when i could just look at the news on tv or via the internet app.

    7) Job Manager.apk - aka the task manager its really boring replaced with Advanced task killer and watchdog

    8) Music.apk - replaced with winamp

    9) My Files.apk - replaced with astro file manager it gives more options

    10) Talk.apk - no noticable change

    11) TtsService.apk - no noticable change

    12) VisualizationWallpapers.apk - only gives you a select few live wallpapers removed

    13) Voice Dialer.apk - why have voice dialer its soo lazy

    14) Voice Search.apk - again lazy

    15) Livewallpaper.apk - only gives you a select few live wallpapers

    16) Livewallpaperpicker.apk - allows u to pick which live wallpaper you want

If you have anymore that you've found or found an error when removing these apps please let me know and ill update the list accordingly!

Hope you all enjoy the extra free space

    Thanks

all of the apps that he has listed can be safely removed from a phone running a deodexed rom, (if you are running just a STOCK ROOTED Odin) you cannot remove most of those apps as it will mess up the phones brain, once the phone is deodexed you can add and remove apps whenever you want without many problems, myself i have talk still installed as i use it, to communicate with Area 51 Development Group, if there is an issue with a server or a major glitch in a program.

I have an easyer way for you to uninstall system apps

simply install link2sd, you get almost unlimited space if done it correctly(look for that post) and when doing a long press on system and downloaded apps the option to uninstall is working and really does uninstall

So whats the Best App/SystemApp remover out there Now ? I used App 2SD then Links didn't like it. Didn't see really much extra space even after Formatting a 32gig SD Card With 6 gig allocated Fat32 partition. I Now use (Paid Version) of Titanium Backup for all my Uninstall Apps,Programs and Testing trash. ( Free version works well also. i just wanted to stop clicking every app after a wipe..lol)

I agree with the email and gmail deetions. K9Mail makes them both useless. I had a problem with removing voice dialer. When I do, the phone goes into a mini boot loop (gets to home screen, then kicks back to lock screen) when bluetooth is enabled. It continuescontinues until bluetooth is turned off again

I have a few questions to help me understand :
    1. What is the advantage of removing the unused stock apps? If you are using A2SD as jcole20 recommends phone space is not a problem. Does it make the phone run better or faster if they are removed even if using A2SD?
    2. I am not sure I understand the difference between deodexed and undeodexed. Is the installed Arq 2.0 deodexed or not? In other words is it safe to use titanium backup to uninstal the above stock apps while running arq 2.0 or will it "mess up the phones brain"?
    Thanks.

Thanks jcole20. I found a good explanation here:

Still left with whether removing stock apps that one never uses speeds anything if a2sd is being used. Does it?

If you don't use it, it won't effect anything. I've made the mistake of deleting apps I never use (Voice Dialer) and had very bad results. Some system apps are dependant on others for some reason and will screw things up by deleting them. Apparently Bluetooth is tied to Voice Dialer somehow and that's how it messed up for me. Like I, and othefs have said, freeze the app and see if there are ajy side effects before deleting. It's easier to ub freeze an app than it is to have to reflash a rom because you deleted something you shouldn't have. I know this from experience

Android Assistent has a Batch Install/Batch Uninstall feature. With the batch install, you do have to click the Install and Done buttons with each app but you don't have to choose app, install, done, choose app, install done, etc. I use it to back up all my user apps to the SDCard (saves them in one folder) before flashing a rom, install rom, then batch install my apps

This is a list that ive been compiling of stock apps that are safe to remove without ramifications to other apps or processes.

To remove stock apps using root explorer first scroll down to the sdcard folder and open it, then click the menu button and select new folder, create a name for it (i called it deleted but you can use w/e you like).

    Thanks

    Just AWESOME!

Without the stock browser, Dolphin HD isn't skipping a beat. I also deleted contact & calendar sync apps... I just don't need them.
