Hey all.

I have tried several times to get this to work and no luck.

First when I have the phone powered off and do the key combo I never get a square of any kind I get a triangle at the bootm and then a warning msg at the top with the opt. to continue to download custom rom or reboot. I have tried picking the download custom rom and it goes to the android char. and stated it's downloading... Do not turn off target!! However nothing ever happens.

Also where does the files actually get placed? Root of the ExtSD or the internal? (I placed them in both places to be safe), also is the data cable plugged into anything other then the phone?

Thanks, Slim!

Your in the download mod there you need to have your phone plugged in to your pc and odin ready, then click on the pda button and find the tar file you downloaded beofre, make sure the reboot button is unchcked, and the blue box on odin is lite with a com3,you can then click the start button and wait for it to finish, then go to the next step do not turn off the phone

When you started odin did you make sure the reboot box was unchecked, you had the tar file in the pda box.then after it finished you placed it in recovery. Then make a back up.....if you have done all this then do it again. It should work,no once else has reported this problem before

Ok, here's my story. Yes, I forgot to tell it not to reboot the first time and I get the Yellow Triangle under the Samsung logo even after I redid  the CWM load with reboot turned off. I can get into CWM but the yellow download mode triangle remains under the Samsung logo on every reboot and I am also unable to root because I get the MD5 mismatch error.  :-\

PS How many posts do I have to make before not having to enter verification on every friggin post?!? This is annoying!

If your installing CWM you need to make sure in odin that the reboot box is not checked and place the tar file in the pda box lick start and let it run when it says pass you are ready to reboot, make sure you dont turn the phone off or you will lose it all, hold the power and vol button at the same time, when its vibs let go of power only and it will start in cwm. From there you need to make a back up,then you can go and install the root files.

randomuser that just to let you know your in the dl mod,if you dont have the drivers for your phone installed odin will not work as it cant find your files.make sure you install the drivers plug your phone in and have it in dl mode,if the drivers r installed you will see a box in odin on the left side that has a com # in it it may be a blue or tellow box.when you have that uncheck the reboot box,and click the pda box and find the tar file you dl.once you have that click the start btton and wait for it to finish.then with out turning off yur phone go into recovery and make a back up

recovery from dl mode.hold power up and vol wait till it vibs at least twice then let go of power only till it shows recovery

Disclaimer: We here at Area 51 Development Group are formally Not responsible
for anything that may happen to your phone while you are installing a non market
item with this in mind installing this is totally at your Discretion

Here's what you all have been waiting for.

The only known working release of CWM for the Centura.

Download Centura CWM By Clicking Here     http://arearom.com/devuploads/motorhead/public/centura-cwm-6028.tar

Odin download can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xehgcc607vp47bv/Odin_v3.07_v3.06_v3.04_v1.85_v1.83.zip

To Install:
1. Download the tar file above and Odin3 v1.85

2. Boot device into Download Mode by pressing Vol down+power,
hold power till the phone vibrate's then release power only

3. Using a known working DATA TRANSFER CABLE, plug the cable into your device
and wait for the yellow square to show up. Once it does, uncheck the reboot option,
put the tar file in the PDA slot and click start.

Once odin has finished,go right into recovery by holding the vol up and power till the
phone vibrate's let go of power only.

You should now be in Recovery,if not start over again,if you are in recovery,go to back up/restore
back up and make a back up.

Thanks go out to Motorhead for the CWM.

I used this method and it worked great!! Thank you, but i seem to have got myself in some trouble. After rooting i used the "swapper 2" app and when i rebooted my phone all it says is "Samsung" and never turns off. If i hold the power button it will turn off for a/b 3 second then turns back on by itself. i tried booting into recovery and download modes but it just turns off than back on. when i put it in the computer my computer recognizes it as a samsung CDMA device but nothing to do with android. can you help or is it a brick? Thank you for your time
