Folks, just recently my alarm clock has started funking out.

I have two alarms set at night so I get up to add wood to the stove.

In the past two days, the alarms have not gone off.

When I run a test and set an alarm for say 10 minutes from now, sleep the phone, the alarm doesn't go off and wake the phone at the set time. However, when I manually wake the phone up the alarm immediately goes off (at the wrong time of course).

So, the clock/alarm function is not waking the phone up any more and waits till the phone is awake to go off.

I had recently installed Battery Doctor and thought it was killing the clock app, but the clock app is excluded from kill according to Android Tuner. I even disabled Battery Doctor in Android Tuner and that didn't help.

Odd that the problem started around the time I installed Battery Doctor, but that may be a coincidence.

Anyone have an idea what may be causing this?

I have Battery Doctor installed on my ASUS MemoPad FHD 10 running 4.2.2 JB with the exact settings as I had on the Centura and it wakes up and alarms just fine, so I don't think it's BD that caused the issue I'm having on the Centura.

I installed a different Alarm Clock app from Market and same results, it's obviously just a UI using the same system service.

Can't miss stoking the stove, it gets cold in here quick this time of year  :-\

UPDATE: I fixed the issue by booting into recovery and erasing cache, back to 'normal' (if there is such a thing)  :o

The alarms not waking from sleep get messed up after a reboot

Only way to get them working again is to delete them and recreate them then they work until the next reboot

So something during reboot is messing with the alarm wake from sleep ability

    Anyone else with this problem?

Is it related to firmware update?  Does your phone have MC1 or MJ1?

No I'm on Kernel 3.0.8 (ARC1.3) and ROM 1.2, haven't applied any updates since then.

Every reboot breaks the alarm 'wake from sleep' - alarm just sits there waiting for me to manually wake Centura (pwr/wake button) then it goes off instantly whenever I wake it next time (at the wrong time of course).

If I use Android Tuner and 'Wipe Dalvik' then reboot, alarm is fixed and wakes from sleep until next reboot and it breaks again.

I am on the stock MJ1 ROM with the 1.3 kernel and my alarm clock does not go off unless I wake up and set it to go off in 5 mins. I have tried other alarm apps but no luck. I have also tried JB Clock alarm and KK alarm clock. They all show the notification for the alarm but it does not go off. It doesnt even go off at the wrong time. Its like the NSA is disabling our alarms so we sleep more and it gives them more time to take our data ;) haha but seriously it is really annoying

I've never had a problem with it, my gf and her family either, we all have centuras with the mj1 rom, but we're all running the mj1 kernel, I'm running an mj1 kernel that I built

    skyking,
Could Android Tuner be causing this problem?  Did you try disabling it?

Tuner is passive and doesn't run any services or processes so I don't think that's it, and you can't disable it you must uninstall it.

Can you post a play store link to the Android Tuner you are using?

I'm also using Battery Doctor and just turned off Smart Saving and did a reboot and Alarms are still working, so perhaps that was the issue. I'll come back with updates if it starts misbehaving again but OK for now.

Update: Alarm worked because it was a NEW alarm I added. If I modify the existing alarms or wait for them to go off at their set times (12:03am and 03:03am) they still don't after a reboot. Again, the ONLY thing that will get EXISTING alarms to continue to work after a reboot is to use Android Tuner and do a 'Wipe Dalvik' which auto reboots.

UPDATE: Alarms are still not working as described previously. Alarm does not wake from deep sleep mode, goes off as soon as you manually turn screen on.
