Nice!  I've been trying to break 5K.  Getting closer.  I might give that Pure Graphics HD a try.  I'm using Viper4Android for audio, which works really well.  I've looked all over this site trying to find just the stock kernel, but each link leads me to stock Rom and Kernel.  Is there a link for just the stock kernel?

    ARC 1.3
1.3 OC Kernel (min set at 600, max 1300)
    Deadline
    Ondemand tweaked
    128kb cache size
    SysCtl tweaks

    edit> Finally hit 5k

Not quite sure what you mean.  I'm not running JB (wish I was).  Where do you see that?

By the way, thank you for all you and the others do on this site.  I've learned so much from you guys and gals and your hard work on these little phones is much appreciated.

Wow!  Nice job.  That's a really good RAM speed you got there.  Nice I/O speeds too.  I'm running the 1.6 GHz right now but might have to try the 2.0 (thanks daddy).  Might have to give that NITRO X SPARK a go too.  Haven't tried in a while but I'm still trying to break 5100.

I am what I am and what I'm not I'll never be.
Thanks Daddy and Lael. During the benchmarks I hit something like 5140, did a few cleanups and tweaks, hit 5300 or so, then just ran another and hit 5510. Nitro X is much better than PerformancesX in my opinion, and the 2GHz kernel is friggin' smokin'. As long as you manage your open apps and keep around 85-90MB RAM you're good. I also take it a step further and go to Developer's Options and set "Background process limit" to "At most 4 processes". I also keep the minimum CPU speed at 480MHz for a little extra oomph. I don't mind battery life so much because it's strictly a soft-phone (wifi-only).

Thanks for the tip on Nitro X.  I flashed the 2.4 version today and it makes my phone noticeably faster and smoother.  And my boot up time has been cut in half, at least.  Very happy with it so far.  Gonna play with the settings a little and then see if I can up my antutu score.

Thanks for letting me know that v2.4 is out. It's even better than v2.2! Instead of an average of ~60-80MB RAM free I'm keeping around ~80-120MB RAM free. The post on XDA is a little difficult to understand in some places, but I'm assuming it's because English isn't the author's native tongue, so I'm okay with that. The mod works well, and I really like it. Especially compared to PerformancesX.

No problem.  I know what you mean about the ram.  That's crazy.  I noticed the OOM values in the mod are set really high.  My antutu scores haven't really gone up, but it is definitely much faster and smoother and I love the fast boot time.  Battery isn't so good but that's what chargers are for.  Thanks for turning me on to it.

And Props to Area 51 for the root, recovery, roms, kernels and themes that allow us to tweak these little phones into the best they can be.

Decided to flash daishi4u's Stock_MJ1_Rooted_Deodexed_Zipaligned rom (with stock kernel) and got 5266.  Then flashed daddy's OC Kernel 1.3 GHz  and got 5441.  No tweaks.  Of course, I tested after only adding 7 additional apps to the stock rom so there's a lot less apps on the phone than my previous testing.  Still not too bad.  Now I'll bloat my phone with apps and see how much that slows down the phone  ;D

Haha. Good to see you're getting some good scores out of it as well. I'm quite content with the performance I've gotten out of it thus far, though with that being said it's just not enough for me. I'll get a better phone one day... :)

I know.  You get a few good scores and you just want to keep going higher, tweaking this, tweaking that.  But I think I'm going to leave mine as close to stock as possible for now (except for daddy's kernels).  Maybe try Nitro X v2.5 when it comes out soon.  But the latest scores were with no tweaks, so maybe best to leave it alone.  I know what you mean about a new phone.  Someday... But at least we're getting the most out of this phone thanks to Area51
