Author Topic: Centura Themes

Topic Original "No modification"
There is much info scattered around the forum about themes,  Some related to the Centura some not.
I am using UOT Kitchen to try and change ONLY my battery ICON.  Figure start small and go from there.
I extracted the file Settings.uot from one of the Themes that alwazeplayin has developed.
Up loaded that into UOT kitchen, mad my changes, Got the green ok bars from the kitchen, cooked the file and downloaded.  If I replace this file in the original themed ZIP and flash it to my phone will the changes take effect or are there more steps to take?
I can see where doing an entire theme from scratch could take days.  There are many icons and many choices to make.

you might have to copy the meta-inf folder from one of the themes or from one of the Rom to your UOT file tho get it to install, or you could replace the files in an existing theme with the new ones. Don't do the icons from UOT, they are pretty much just got gingerbread buy everything thing else should work as long as you upload the sytem files from one of my themes as I have modded them too work with the status bar changes.

OK .... that was an epic fail.....
Loaded ok but NO Status bar....... Still had part of the the X-metal theme.

I had copied the meta-inf folder from the X-metal to the UOT zip I received from the kitchen.
Flashed it with no problems, rebooted just fine.  Just no Status bar.
Re-flashed the theme, all ok now.

UOT isn't very friendly to the
centura. I only go there for certain things and pick them out and put them in my files such as battery and pop-up windows etc....hang in there..I'm just barely owning a smart phone for a year and knew nothing about theming. I did a lot of googling and experimenting. I'm still learning abd figuring out things ask the time.

Still playing with it.
Allows me to have your X metal theme with color notification icons.
I like the fact that it makes a flashable zip for you.

Well that didn't work.
I have the resolution for all of the file types set to : drawable-hdpi

Everything else I left at the default values with the exception of the battery size.  This I set to 27

I think the Centura's screen just wont handle any higher density.

OK.
Wrote down the settings I used.
On the ROM Settings tab
Set  all 3 to:
Drawable.mdpi
Battery size @ 25
I left every thing else at default.
After changes you make to the icons create the flashable zip
Put it on your ext SD card.
Reboot phone into flash mode (vol up/power)
Select the zip you made and enjoy

Thanks,
I have Ninjamorph and have been playing with it, but think I am modifying the icons in the wrong folder.

Am using this guide:

http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-theme-stickies/12641-how-use-ninjamorph-change-notification-bar-icons.html
I'll have to ask Alwayz if his themes put them else where.

most of them are in the framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi folder with a prefix of stat_notify or stat__sys. there's about 10 in the systemui.apk with the same prefix name.
