Hi anyone having the time loss problem, which seems to be the majority of us, please contact samsung directly @

You can contact our voice support at
    1-888-987-4357, Mon-Fri: 7 AM - 9 PM (CST), Sat: 9 AM - 6 PM (CST).

I think if we all complain perhaps they will make a fix for it. I did an online chat support with them tonight and they claim that their has been no others to report the issue to them directly. (No wonder it still isnt fixed.)

Also I had installed the clocksync app that someone else said fixes the issue and it does so long as i am on my homes wifi but as soon as I go to work and lose wifi signal, the clocksync stops syncing to the server anyone else have that problem? If so is their a way to get it to work without the wifi enabled? If i lose wifi and use mobile data I can no longer connect to the server it seems. Anyhow ty if you are able to call them and gripe about it. I also wanted to know if anyone has the custom rom installed do you have the same clock problem, or do you know of what file in the phone to mess with to possibly fix it? I have CWM and ROOT on this device.

There is a setting in the app that allows you to sync on 3g as well. Change it to that and let me know if it works for you.

I see nothing about syncing on 3g could you tell me where this is? I cannot seem to find that option and I would like to say I called samsung they informed me that the software on these phones is not theirs but placed by the providers in net10 or straight talks case that is at least. I was directed to contact net10 in regards to the time problem and they had me troubleshoot which i explained I had done all the steps with each attempt then I could hear the tech in background speaking with his boss about it and they are escalating this problem to get a patch made at this time and I was told to wait for a new ota update so until then we are screwed with the time problem. I did just install an update however I will let you know if I experience more clock issues.

i have that set in this way and mine for some reason just will not work that way. Could be that my mobile internet is blocking it, I have net10 and I think they use the verizon network....they also claimed to me that the clock problem is due to something about verizon's cell tower that i am connecting to or some such crap, which i dont see that being the case since I can turn off auto time and enter manually and still have same problem.

I have net10 as well and it works for me. Weird wonder why it isn't working for you. I'm actually the one who brought up using this app in the first place. Maybe you got a bad phone or something?

sounds like the phones have a bad timer chip from the factory guess we will have to be watching for a Centura II to come out with that corrected and probably have to start all over on the Rom and Root and CWM for it.

To me it sounds like the Big Red One's problem, but since it does it without syncing to a tower as well, it may just be a bug in the firmware (this is why OEMs shouldn't compile :P)

Weird. I use beautiful widgets which has a clock. A couple minutes ago my system clock said 7:05. Widget clock said 12:05 which is correct. 5 hrs exactly. Saw post in another forum??? Which tied this to GMT.

Sorry to dig up a dead thread, but has anyone tried to change the ntp server in clock sync to a different one if they were having problems with it before?

pool.ntp.org works for me.  Do you have a firewall blocking connection?  Try via public WiFi also to rule out home router firewall.

Over on androidforums.com, someone wiped their system cache in recovery mode and the time problem didn't come back for 3 weeks. I did the same and so far I haven't had the time problem and I've also noticed that the lag I was experiencing with the notification bar is completely gone. I'm going to start clearing the cache weekly just to see if the time problem or notification lag comes back. If it doesn't I think we may have found a workaround.

I contacted straight talk corporate and they told me to un-check the auto time and time zone settings, reboot the phone, clear the system cache, or do a complete system restore. IMO if clearing the system cache regularly eliminates the issue it's the most simple solution.
