So I need help bad, I can't remember what i've done to my Centura but I remember a while ago I used Odin and all that and I have clockworkmod but no ROM, my phone won't update, nor will my SD card work as phone storage, I just want it to function properly, and I think i've somehow blocked Net10's service because I just applied a new card yesterday and I can't get service no matter what customer service does or I do. dear lord help me lol, I really don't know what all i've put on there but right now it's cleaned, although i still get the yellow caution sign under samsung at start-up and my updates fail every time, it's Android 4.0.4 and I think it's reverted to 2013.

After you installed CWM, did you make a backup?  Or any other backups along the way?  If so, you can try to restore to before when all the trouble started.

What do you mean it won't update?  What won't update?  To MJ1?  Are you rooted?

i'm not sure if it's rooted or not, i'm assuming it is because i've got superuser or did, I did not create a back-up like a nincompoop lol... but I got a 2013 stock backup from a topic on the forums here, yet it won't update my android system still, everytime it wants to do a system update it downloads it then i go to install and it says it failed, i'm assuming the backup 2013 file i copied to my SD card wasn't done properly on my part because I still get the caution sign at start-up below the samsung logo :/ i'm kind of lost right now in all of it, I do have ODIN and I know how to follow instructions though lol, I would like to Root it and get a nice ROM that works properly and works properly with service activation for my Net10 service, because I think whatever I did with my Root and back-up and all that has somehow blocked Net10's service activation to my phone >< lol oh boy i'm not even sure if I installed CWM right the first time but it's on there and I see it when I go into recovery mode, oh and i've always had the system update problem... it was before any ROMS were made for the centura, but i've just now put airtime on it after a year, so this is the first time running into this problem so I wouldnt be able to diagnose the date my service would of worked, since I didn't hve service after my root until now. But my service won't even work enough to give me a new number, so I believe I have messed up somewhere along the line in my root and blocked it from doing what it needs to do.

You can always flash a return to stock rom to get back to stock...there's one that come's prerooted with the MJ1 update:

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login***-all-things-root-***-308/stock-mj1-rom-and-kernel/

Try flashing the rooted stock deodexed zipaligned rom with mj1 update

After flash, do a wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik and reboot.

Then try to add your minutes on to the phone.  And we'll go from there...

EDIT>Download the rooted stock deodexed zipaligned rom and place it on your ext sd card, then flash in CWM, wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik and cache, then reboot and try to add minutes..

It won't ask you for any more updates after flashing this...

You mentioned you were having problems with the ext sd card so hopefully you can place it on there...

your gonna get the yellow caution....the only way your phone wont get service is if you changed some thing in settings....... what cwm do you have installed on it......did you try to partition the sdcard.......did you mess with the mount points in recovery.........what root and how did you root it......if you used root manager or rom manager that would most likely be the problem for all you troubles.........think of every thing you did and what you installed on it......the more we know the more we can help you......

well I used arearom viper recovery with odin, ive done the partition but it never works lol, I did mess with mount points... but i don't think i used root manager or rom manager, right now I actually have TC1.3 installed, only thing i notice differently is that I can't update my PRL anymore, Net10 is saying its on my end.. lol, but I have flashed stock Lael, i'm not sure why it wouldn't revert back correctly then.. the thing is, my airtime is already loaded to my phone's serial number so every day is one more off my plan, before I do all that, is there anything I can do in recovery that might undo the conflict with my PRL update? it is rooted.. I think? I mean I couldn't flash a ROM onto it without a root right? if not I think I need to go through with that next

i'm not sure, what the heck would cause that problem? they were telling me it was on my end because the warranty was voided, but yet... idk, maybe they were just pissed I rooted it lol. but yeah, every time I try to dial the PRL update number it gives me the message "Your account could not be validated" I don't get what I did on my end that's doing this, and I think I might blow my brains out if I have to talk to anyone in customer service again lmao X] I went into recovery and fixed permissions but still nothing, I really don't want to go through ALL of that crap to flash a ROM again but I guess i'll have to revert like lael said and see if that works, i'm assuming if it loads my activation correctly then I can go back to TC1.3?

st net10 and tracfone are all basically the same company. *22890 is used for the initial programming and for prl update on st, so id assume its the same on net10

Sorry to hear about that.  You might want to hang on to it just in case someone else comes up with a solution.  Lessons learned I guess......

Have you tried going into superuser and select unroot and remove superuser then flash stock recovery back on it then try your update?

There's a thread here about the mj1 update that has other users having issues even when they weren't rooted.

Have you tried getting someone with a stock rooted Centura with stock recovery to pull a system, recovery, and modem .img  dump to make an Odin flashable tarball to see if flashing that through Odin will fix you then try the update? Have you tried various commands in terminal emulator to see if your partitions contain what they are supposed to or going through any secret dialer menus to verify your PRL? You've altered something in a deeper layer than any ROM zip flash will fix, there are things that a custom ROM doesn't contain, things that stay on the device no matter what ROM you use, your issue seems to be in one of the deeper layers. If that's the case then flashing a modem.img and system.img in an Odin flashable file just might do it.
