I have the 1.2 ROM installed.

I have super su installed.  There is something in my mind that that (I think) I read on this site that one or the other works better with the mod ......either super user or super su.

Is there a preference with the ROM?

I'm getting a kind of annoying black screen without anything on it and I am starting me search for the reason.

SO which is it super user or super su.

Both work fine but, I prefer supersu. At the time when 1.2 was released there was an update to supersu that caused problems but its working wonderful.

      Never Give Up

I like supersu hands down. I never can get super user to work right when I set it to Grant automatically. I just like it to do it's job and run quietly in the bg

A more recommended way to switch root apps:

    • Install root app (SuperSU) from Play store
    • Open SuperSU
    • Grant it root permission using other (Superuser in this case) app
    • Either remove Superuser using SuperSU or by manually deleting it
    • Reboot

This way you will have your preferred root app while keeping root access.

I can't help thinking maybe supersu is doing it right (although koush's is close) perhaps it'd be worth to try to persuade the dev to get his soul back and release his source.

i like to assist when i can
You should all just pick which one you want then get a .zip from xda and flash it. That is all. Delete the other one first or last, doesn't matter. This method is the best. Play store sux  :o

I prefer Koush's Superuser. SuperSU is closed source and comes with just a bit too many features for me.

It's not that simple unless you only think short-term. SuperSU is closed source so if you value root request working properly then I'd suggest trying SuperUser and switching only if it doesn't work. Lest we fall back on to plain unguarded su...  :'(
