I have Centura on ARC 10b and I have Chainfire's wifi tether app from the Play Store. I can activate hot spot with root access and connect, but it will not let the connected device access internet. Is there any way to get fully functional hot spot on Centura Straighttalk??? Thx

It may be the other connect device is not set up right,or you may need to use a different wifi app for it,im using jbtether and kindle fire and lg phone both connect and work with it.also the new rom 1.1 had been tweaked for tethering.

Edit i just checked out chainfire wifi with the kindle and the lg phone and both connected with no problems after i entered the password.  the pass word is the same as the name portablehotspot..give it a try and let me know.

I am using MANET Manager. Anyone familiar with it? If so, what is default password.

Is there any other ad hoc apps that are good?

I just use velcro to tether mine. Tethers it to laptop,  fridge, washer. Though I don't know why a feller would want to tether to a washer. Never tether to a dryer, the battery gets hot.

    I use fifox.(mobile) pdanet (pc/mac)

    It's a free tether app usb/Bluetooth/(root)wifi
There's a addon to enable proxy(may hide tether/data from carrier)

    It workes great for me

Even if you're encrypting your web data, Your carrier will still know you're tethering. They detect this by the amount of data you're using and not by how you're using the data.
