It's amazing what you can do with a soldering iron and a hack saw though...  ;)

is this the about me part?
personally, i don't trust the app that you can find in the play store. tor isn't supposed to run with root privileges because if you do end up getting some sort of malware, it puts your entire system at risk. on a desktop, it will deny access if you'r running as root, yet the android version of the app asks for root permissions. do you know off hand if its made by the same development crew?

and furthermore, the nsa can still access data provided by your carrier, so activity done on a mobile device can be viewed. basically, if you're worried about anonymity, the best thing you can do is set up a TAILS cd that you use. i don't recommend creating a usb as malware can be added to the flash driver, whereas after you've burnt the iso to a disk properly, no data can be added to it. also, be sure to do your research on the use of proxies and vpns. there's like a magical trifecta of tools that you have to use or its all just in vain. its fairly easy to achieve total anonymity, but if one step gets skipped, you're screwed. hope all this helps.
