I've been doing everything I can to get development moving on this device, so I took matters into my own hands and did things that are really sketchy in order to move forward. According to fastboot and a few huawei flashing apps out there, my h881c bootloader is UNLOCKED. I have also successfully built a CWM touch recovery for it, flashed it, but I cannot boot into recovery. It just loops once and then boots into the system normally.  Now it seems that I have deleted the stock recovery partition, and cannot boot into either the stock nor custom recovery. I now need help from other developers to complete the process so we can get this device onto an active development phase. If you are a DEVELOPER WITH EXPERIENCE IN MAKING A RECOVERY STICK, please pm me and i will provide you with all the info and files I have and have used.

Well here is my situation. The bootloader was actually the *easy part*. All I did was use the "Huawei bootloader unlock" app from the play store, then I gambled and picked the device with the closest board specs. I have confirmed that my bootloader IS unlocked, but it caused problems with my /system partition. I'm now radio soft bricked. The phone is being told at boot that its a GSM model and there is no sim card, lol. This should be an easy fix if I can get someone to upload the clean system.img. As far as the recovery goes, I think I've found a way, but I need to do a little more experimentation before I will release a guide and files.

So, that being said, could someone please pull and upload the h891c system.img and data.img for me. I have the stock boot and recovery images, but I need to have the correct system files to proceed, just so I know for sure the process is safe and complete. I've done a lot of mods in the system in my attempts at the custom recovery, but I've corrupted it in the process. Like a dumb butt, I did it without making a backup first  >:(

Another big help would be if I could get my hands on the original /cust files from the root file system. This contains the default location settings needed for some apps, but also had the nv.bin file that writes the radio and the apn-config.xml and apn-relations.xml. These got all screwy on me when I flashed the bootloader. Very strange things. I guess thats why they say root and bootloaders are very device specific things, lol. Meh....it happens. I have no doubt I can find the fix, just a matter of time. I finally have the cell network connection figured out, but no data.

The way I got recovery to stick is dd.
    i.e. dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-num/p13

Unfortunately my bootloader was still locked so when I rebooted I got the signature verify fail.

Now I think that was the partition number. Its the one that points to mmcblk0p013. That is the recovery partition. 0p12 is the boot partition.

Ah! Good deal! I'll try it your way and see what I come up with. I found a simple way to find all of the partition details right from the phone itself. I was using fdisk and other methods, but they all showed up as an unnamed "Linux Partition". Since the phone I have is already half screwed, I might as well try it out. No pain no gain, right? Also, did you use the graphics.c or a post-recovery.sh? If you did, can you pass them along please?

I think we are really close. The problems that I produced with unlocking can be easily remedied (I think anyways) by simply backing up a few stock folders prior to the unlock procedure.  After that, it's a matter of getting the recovery "fine tuned" and sat in place.

In the etc folder is a file called last-log. It shows all the partitions, just open it as text.

Correct. Now if I could just get the recovery to stick! No matter what method of flashing the new recovery.img I use...it just won't stick. It's acting as if the BL isn't actually unlocked, even though the shell says that writing the recovery.img and boot.img is successful through ADB and fastboot.

Well I tried to install using the dd method, but the same side effect ensued. It seems to format the stock recovery, but cwm isn't installing either. Now when I try to boot into recovery, it just loops and then reboots normally into the system. I'm going to try to rebuild cwm now that I have the kernel source. I'm curious to see if adding in the recovery.fstab, graphics.c, and the post-recovery.sh files will help in the process. I have not tried to flash any other firmware yet. I am going to investigate into what other huawei devices (if any) use the same board. Problem there is that the init scripts show an msm7627a and an msm7630. Just want to be sure I'm not going to completely brick the thing. I'm getting a new device soon (told ST that it was borked right out of the box, lol), but I also want to see what all I can do, without bricking it, before I get the new one.

If you want to get ahold of me easier, get ahold of me in a PM and I will give you my gmail UN and use gtalk instead. I know communicating through a forum can be a PITA sometimes.

edit: according to the specs listed hereYou are not allowed to view links. Register or Login , it's actually an msm8625.

So I tried the u8825 firmware and putt was a no go cause of the sig verify. But I'm reading that when its on download mode, it shows up as a disk drive on a Linux system. When I get home in gonna install Ubuntu and verify that. If so we can access all the partitions from a su environment

If you are rooted you should be able to adb push the folder back into place, as far as the blue screen I've never seen that. Holding power and volume down gets you to Fastboot mode which looks like it hands on the Huawei sand dollar logo. Do you know how to use adb?

A long as you are rooted, you should be able to use adb to push the usr folder back into place, but I think you may have more issues than that. As far as the blue screen, do you mean the TracFone logo?

Yes the tracfone logo lol i couldnt think of the propwr name to call it at the time and i cant get into fastboot mode i can go into recovery with power and volume up but wen i press power and volume down if i dont hold it long enough it goes to logo screen so i jus keep holding it and it stays on the huawei screen logo

I have a Huawei H881C Stock Rooted, If you need me to duplicate any of the files, i'm not a COMPLETE noob... But i'd need   some 1-1 Explaining and How-to's to get them. The only promblem i have with my phone ATM is i cant boot into recovery mode, the screen goes Purple. Not too sure what i did. I seen this thread, and wanted to help so i created this acc (in case your wondering) but Hit me up If you need some stock-rooted files for help with this.

Well, after pulling my hair out with this thing, I've discovered something interesting and frustrating. Even though fastboot tells me that the bootloader is unlocked, the sig check is still in place. Technically speaking, the bootloader is in an unlocked state, but it's encrypted with the sig check. I am exploring other methods as we speak. Tricky little bugger.

Edit: I am also uploading the /system dump that I recently made. Just in case anyone would like to play around with it.

I have also used HUAWEI Bootloader Unlock to get my H881C Bootloader unlocked. I on the other hand used a phone that wasn't a GSM model. I haven't had any problems I am looking forward too loading a custom Rom now.

I'm uploading the h881c Tracphone update.app which will allow people to fix most brick and boot loops via fast boot installation. Or maybe  guys can disassemble it and get the information u need I figure it be easier sense the software isn't being protected by the phone. Not sure.if I can ever get it uploaded I'll leave a link at 4shared

    recovery filesystem table (H881C)
    =========================
      0 /tmp ramdisk (null) (null) 0
      1 /boot emmc /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 (null) 0
      2 /cache ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 (null) 0
      3 /data ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (null) -16384
      4 /recovery emmc /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 (null) 0
      5 /misc emmc /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 (null) 0
      6 /sdcard vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /dev/block/mmcblk1 0
      7 /system ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p17 (null) 0
      8 /sys_boot vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 (null) 0
      9 /fat vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 (null) 0
      10 /HWUserData vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p19 (null) 0
      11 /cust ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 (null) 0

you can flash recovery images to the phone using terminal or adb.

assuming you have a recovery image named recovery.img on sdcard at /mnt/sdcard/recovery.img

you can pull the stock recovery image by using this command:
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
    cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 > /sdcard/recovery-stock.img
the file's size is 20mb, but once you've repacked it it's about 6mb

Nope... I was wrong Bootloader is totally locked. The stock image below was okay, but any modifications made to the ramdisk cause signature verification error. Good thing I kept the receipt. Will continue the quest tomorrow after I replace the phone.
