    Matt!

I'm new, gotta LG Optimus Q, and am full of questions (well, maybe a few).

I'm rooted, got CWM, a back-up or two, and the rather drab Hydro Team ROM. I'm looking for a new ROM, if you know what I mean??? Ya... that leaves me with AreaRom, right? So much for all the fish in the sea...

And that leads me to a question! Can anyone point out where to look for removing a ROM and flashing a new one? Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, factory reset, wipe, wipe, follow instructions to flash arearom?

    Thankee and hello again!

Hi matt welcome to the forums once you have cwm backing up / restoring roms will become a breeze its really easy to upgrade roms like going from hydrorom to arQ iirc should just be installing from zip

So. I don't know as much as I think I do. I first rooted, flashed rom, etc yesterday, never before.

I can't help but feel that there are obvious (as in everyone-should-know-to-do-this...) steps missing from your brief instructions.

Should I restore my stock backup, factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik, and flash arearom?

And thanks for the welcome and help!

no all you will need to do is move the .zip to your sdcard factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and flash rom

That. That sounds too easy by far. Which is fine by me. Then, to get back a stock ROM (resale purposes, etc.), I'd have to flash a .zip of the Stock ROM?

yeah, basically, the AreaRomQ release format the partitions for you, but a wipe is usually recommended anyhow.

Check tomorrow afternoon, we've been green lighted for the 1.2 release, and it's pretty damn smooth. i'll try and get an actual update zip of the stock rooted rom up, for now there is a nadroid backup ready for restore in cwm available in the forum (i think it's lightly themed) or this one here: (full rooted stock non-deodexed)  You are not allowed to view links.
