So I just successfully rooted my phone after ending up in a boot loop with my first attempt. Now I need a little help with solving it's memory problems. It has three memory areas: system, internal and SD. For some reason all the new apps go to the system memory instead of internal memory. I can then move most of them (except on, a hacked hulu plus app) to internal memory. I can't move anything to the SD card. But parts of the apps stay in the internal memory, and even updates to existing programs eat away at it. Now I only have maybe 4% left. Nothing can be downloaded and or stored (like new contacts) on my phone. I can't even text or IM. Can someone help me solve this problem?

Don't update apps. Uninstall the old & reinstall the new. The apps you are installing aren't going into system/app they are going into data/app. Your right about part of the app staying on the phone when you move it to the partition called Internal SDcard. I keep all my apps as system/app since they are smaller & run faster when stored there. That is also where all the preinstalled apps are. Clean out the blot to make room.

I am what I am and what I'm not I'll never be.
I know this an old topic, but could you make a tutorial on what can be moved/deleted/etc.? Like a full-fledged detailed guide? I'm sure that would prevent many posts from appearing and clear up confusion. I've been reading through all of these and haven't really figured out what the 'sure' path to take is.

See my post a few down - Hacking the LGL38C - more app install space. It basically swaps space between the 'internal memory' and 'system memory' - giving you 1gb of memory to install apps. 'Internal space' will be limited - but who really cares about that? I can install books and music on the SD card.

(This doesn't touch the system partition where preinstalled apps are - don't confuse system partition with system memory)

I actually have that topic pinned in my browser, and was planning on trying that if a full guide wasn't made. Your answer to "who really cares about ['Internal space']" I would be one who does. I like to test apps that read sensors, benchmark, control the CPU, etc., and all of those apps require to be stored on the System Memory. So could you please tell me how much System Memory and Internal Memory you had free after performing the steps in your post? I appreciate your help thus far.

    Before the mod:
    Internal memory: 1gb
System memory: ~160mb   <-- app storage

    After the mod:
    Internal memory: 166mb
System memory: 1gb    <-- app storage

This doesn't touch the system partition (all the preinstalled apps, including bloatware remain intact).

Thank you. I have followed your previously mentioned guide and came through just fine. I posted a reply to that topic as well.
