    No partitiong required.

Requirements - Space on internal SDCard, kernel that supports init.d (see OC kernel in this section) and link2sd (found in the market)

All you need to do is setup an ext image file, a script to mount it at startup and link2sd

Step 1: Create image using DD (Size is your choice)

    Terminal -
Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
    dd if=/dev/zero of=/path/to/internalsd/FILENAME bs=1024 count=MULTPILEOF1024
    then format it to ext

Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
    mke2fs -F /path/to/internalsd/FILENAME
Step 2: Create mounting script named 11link2sd in /system/etc/init.d

Code: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
    mount -o remount,rw /
    mkdir -p /data/sdext2
    mount /path/to/internalsd/FILENAME /data/sdext2
    mount -o remountro /

Step 3: install link2sd from the market

you should now have a functioning link2sd that should mount at startup

    Image sizes with bs=1024

1024 accounts for 1 MB, so just multiply 1024 by however many MB's you'd like the "partition" to be.

Cool but even using Link2 SD it used up more space then just moving everything to /system/app/.

how do you figure? it actaully stores the dalvik-files from new installed apps to the ext images instead of the /data partition

system app files save dalvik-cache to /data partition.

also you can create a mountpoint and link the /data/data folder for application data settings (libs, settings, userdata)

where again these files are stored on the /data partition even if the apk is in the /system partition.

so more room in /data which is the point

    Nice AmazingLarry,

I am working on one to put apps and data on the External MicroSD.
    Same concept as yours.
Just wondering why you mount root as rw to work in /data ?
    Is this needed?
