Every since the first time i attemted to root this phone (LGL35G), I have had issues with "adb shell". I could never get it to pull up the "#" icon. It would stay as "$". I ran a terminal emulator on the phone and used the "su" command. Gained # but was still unable to control the system directory via command line. I tried fix permissions under ClockWorkMod(installed from oneclick on this site). This did not help. I ran "su" through "adb shell" and it just froze for a second and didn't give me root. Below is how I solved this problem.

All this is assuming that you have successfully rooted your phone via a custom nandroid or root script. My phone is rooted but I am still unable to run custom shell scripts due to permission errors. Also unable to get a root shell via ADB.

The fix is rather easy and I am sure there are alternate methods. This is fool proof:

    1) Install You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

    2) Open ROM Toolbox Lite and move down to the 4th grey button "Scripter"

    3) Move down to the 4th option "Mount System R/W"

    4) Mount phone to computer through developer mode

    5) Open up "adb shell"

    6) Type in "su"

    7) Look on your phone and allow the adb client permission for Super User (or whatever app u chose)

    8) You will now have a root shell where you can begin to fully control your phone

Congrats. I just mounted my system as writable.

Had problems with adb reboot recovery tho. installed Quick Boot & the adb reboot recovery started working.
