tried bumping the l40 recovery didnt work
Just curious, did bump program give error, or did you actually install the recovery.img?
EDIT: If the bump program gave error, then installing is a really bad idea, I think.

no error on bump program. i used a windows port of open bump. i installed it and when i used adb to reboot to recovery i got a security error. so i reflashed with the twrp for our phone. im certian its because the stock recvoery for the l40 is pre kitkat and what not. im willing to try again if someone can upload the zone 2 stock recovery.

ive been trying to get this bootloader unlocked because i belive that net10/tracfone may have put an MSL code on the net ten branded phone (i got two that wont take an ota via *22890 on an MVNO and it says 000000 is the wrong code when i try to get into the hidden menu the one i had before that worked with the mvno) and i want to get into a proper diag mode to reset it back to all zeros.  so i am game to test stuff to get bootloader unlocked.

also i am not aware if you already checked this out but here You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login it has the sources and the kernel sources available.. maby that info could help someone in the adventure of figuring out bootloader unlock

Yeah, I was searching for a zone 2 forum, and saw an ad for it. $30 at Walmart (prepaid plan). Tethering enabled. Might just buy one to see what else tracfone took out. If we could get download mode enabled, then can zero out laf partition, and get to fastboot, and:
    fastboot oem unlock
Yeah, I already downloaded those sources. Some additional apps, emulator, and kernel. But I'm not that good with code. Learning more, all the time.
