      _-Know Thyself-_
Phone Make/Model: Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-S820L
    ROM: Stock---Rooted
    Android Version: KitKat 4.4.4

For my phone, and from what I have read, Android 4.1 or later will boot into safe mode by pressing power button till the power menu pops up and then long-pressing the power off option on the screen.

Right now I have Xposed framework installed and I got this slick module called NeoPowerMenu. It takes the place of the stock shutdown/reboot menu and has added functionality.

Included options are: Power Off, Reboot, Soft Reboot, Recovery, Bootloader, Safe Mode

Xposed framework does pose a bit of a gamble as far as whether or not a soft brick occurs or other complications arise. If you have a backup, and I recommend you make one, and are feeling frisky then go for it!!
