I know this is a stupid question but my brain is fried and my bed is calling me.

How do I install CM7? AR2.3 had detailed instructions.

I haven't gotten an answer to this question so I'm just going to assume I substitute the AR2.3 ROM with the CM7 rom on the SD and follow the instructions You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and hope I don't break my phone.

EDIT: Yeah, it worked great. Sorry for dumb questions.

No question is a dumb question...

    4) Partitioning the SD card on a Windows computer won't work - you need an ext4 partition. Windows only does FAT and NTFS partitions (unless you install a program that can create and format ext4 partitions).

If you are on ar2.3 or 3.0 don't use link2sd everything is in the kernel. Just partition and your done. Using link2sd with ar2.3 messes stuff up

I got it working on 3.4 but just partioning the SD card in windows after I already installed 3.4.

I didn't do a factory refresh or reflash 3.4 but my internal is showing that in went up after partitioning.

any downside to not doing the factory refresh or reinstalling 3.4?

I'm no expert on these things but I don't know why you would need to on a fresh install.

I think the main issue is if you create the ext partition when you have a bunch of apps already on your phone. In that case you want to backup before you put your partitioned card in, and then restore it after. Otherwise it acts like a fresh install when you insert the card.

Heres the Thing This POST IS OBSOLETE in AreaRom 2.3 and ABOVE as we built in the BIG DATA to the kernel so all you have to do is add a SD-ext partition and then factory reset for it to take effect, you will not need LINKS2SD or any other app as it will mess up the system partitions and then you will have BIGGER ISSUES!

I have followed this posts instructions to a T over and over again, however, when I install apps and move them to the sd card, and reboot my phone, the apps are no longer there. This only occurs when I completely move the apps to my SD card. Not when I create a link to them. It happens with any and all apps that I move over. If I just create a link to the app, it does not disappear upon reboot. But I would like to move apps without widgets completely over to sd card.

Any help is kindly appreciated. Thanks for your time guys/gals.

The device is an LG Optimus Logic (NET10) LGL35G with stock kernel and ROM, rooted and has CWM.

I'm new to android devices, I have the LGL38C, with the help of this forum I have managed to root the phone and increase the system partition, A couple of questions.. Do I need the custom rom installed for this to work ? will this work with my phone ? And what is the worst thing that can happen if I manage to botch this ? Thanks for all the useful posts on the forum,

pardon my ignorance, but is this in addition to partitioning the sd card ? I haven't partitioned my card but I have been using link 2 sd to move apps to my card, the problem I'm having is files are being written to the internal storage, I only have 166mb internal storage after I swapped the system and internal out. What I was asking in my previous post is what is the worst that could happen to my phone if I manage to botch this tutorial ? would I be able to install a backup and restore my phones previous state ? if it's just a matter of maybe messing up the sd card I am willing to chance that the sd cards are pretty inexpensive these days

ok i have been playing around with this, I have not been able to get it to work yet but I will continue to try and get this going on my phone, the good news is this is completely reversible, It formatted successfully, but my computer was unable to recognize the sd card while in the phone and the phone could only read the ext partition after formatting with clockwork, I must have done something wrong, I used a card reader and mini tool partition wizard to fix the card to it's previous state, formatted it back to fat32 and set it as primary and all works as it did before, I am not sure yet but I am thinking that I need to partition the card with clockwork then plug the card into a card reader and check that the larger partition is fat32 primary, I'll try that next.

UPDATE : I have tried partitioning the card with ext2 ext3 and ext4 and nothing is working, my phone will read the ext partitions through link2sd but my phone does not see the fat 32 storage section of the card, gives an error that says blank card unknown file system, any help would be appreciated, I am running the arearom version 1.0 for the LGL38C. Could it be the rom itself ? I still have a backup of the stock rom, does anybody think that might be the problem ? I'm running out of ideas

UPDATE: I found the answer to my problem on a post called sd partitioning here on the forum, I didn't know that I had to have a fat, ext4, and a fat 32 partition on the card, once I did that it worked like a charm, just no way to do a backup, Just to test this I installed about 65 apps and games that I don't need to see how it would work, Internal memory was at 8mb after all that,. Then i just flashed the arearom and started fresh, plenty of memory, Thanks guys

I was just posting an app that I use and I use a directory bind done through another app called lucky patcher. It mostly binds data directories but it might bind others as well.
