Like most people I was running low on internal storage and partitioned my sd card. unfortunately afterwards my phone runs unstable force closes freezing all that junk. I used CWM to create the partition with 0 swap size formatted the sd card beforehand and ran a fresh 3.1 install. I have read up on so many partitioning threads and I have to be doing something wrong somewhere any help would be extremely appreciated

I don't think the swap is your problem. Swap files are a waste with Android... though I will definitely say that when you purchase a larger MicroSD card, go with a class10 for whatever size you get... THAT does make a difference.

I have a 32GB Class10 partitioned to 4GB internal and 28GB external and it is very fast. The stock 2GB is very slow... though it worked fine for me (slow but fine) when I partitioned it to 1GB/1GB.

I believe it has to do more with the kernel. I was getting fc's and lockups with AR Overclock in luded with AR3.1. Since switching to Genocide, I haven't had the problem

The box on all Android phones says that but I read somewhere that all you have to do with a 64gb card is pop it in and format it. Justwondering if anyone here had any hands on experience with it

64GB MicroSD Cards will work... they will format to 32GB. The Precedent supports "up to 32GB". I wouldn't waste the money on a 64GB and have it not be usable.

right on. didnt have any electronic transaction capability so i ask good ol' mom and went on amazon and found a 16 gig class 10 for like 17 bucks with an adaptor and just gave her the cash.

Hey does anyone know about increasing RAM? I think droid host had something posted about doing something similar like a2sd but with the ram. sounds like it would wear out the sd card fairly quickly. I'll look into it and ask about it in the correct area   ;)

it can be done with a 64gig, the Prevail will use the Whole 64gigs so i dont see why the Precedent wont, as its a Rebranded Prevail.

i too would like to know about the ram thing. i think your talking about the swap part of partitioning but you kernel has to support it and it does make your sdcards life shorter but enlighten us DH.

I have to agree with kingfhb,A class 10 SD Card is what you want. They are way faster then standard SD Cards.
Bought this one here:You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
And it is a high speed SD Card,See the specs on the reads/writes.

I'm not sure what the point would be. The Max it lets me format my ext partition to is 4gb... the rest is just external space. Unless you plan on dumping a bunch of movies or music on it. Mine never stays formatted that long! Lol

I've been using mine for months, loading and unloading apps and ROMs.  Granted, an SD card has a limited write cycle capacity, but the number for good quality cards is huge.  I think that by the time I wear my 16GB cards out I'll be able to replace them for a few bucks.
