I have a reconditioned LG Optimus Q and want to connect it to my laptop.  Some have said I need to download certain drivers.  Other said I need the LG mobile phone tools software.  I did download the phone tools software, but it does not recognize my Optimus Q.  I am not a very geeky person, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Windows should download the drivers for you when you plug it in.

Thank you for responding to my query about my LG Optimus Q phone.  When I connected the phone to my laptop with the USB cable that came with the phone, Windows did not find any drivers.  Error messages included: driver for CDC Serial is not installed; CDC Ethernet Control Model (ECM) doesn't have a driver; LG Android USB device does not have a driver.  When my computer asked if I wanted to apply a "fix", I clicked yes.  It appeared to be trying to find a "missing driver" and was looking for a solution online.  However, it could not fix the problem.

Thank you, blazer64.  I did go online and searched on google for LG Optimus Q drivers.  I found a link and downloaded the drivers.  In my computer's hardware settings it now shows drivers for LG.  However, when I connect my phone to the computer, nothing happens.  I went into the LG Phone Tools software program again, connected my phone via its USB cable, and told the phone tools program to find my phone.  It still says it fails to find any phone connected.  Not giving up, though.  There has to be a solution out there somewhere.  Thanks again.

The class of the sd shouldn't matter. It could be your usb port, cord or something else installed on your pc. Try uninstalling any other LG drivers on your pc, reboot and then install the LG drivers from the LG website. If all else fails try AirDroid for transferring files to and from your pc. There is also the poot method for rooting the Q which doesn't need a usb connection to root.

Frequent flasher on my atrix 2....have a couple of questions..
I tried the post app combo and no su dice there so I am going to go the long way around.  AreaQ 2.1 is latest rom correct?  So root,  twrp,  backup,  flash rom like I would. Normally do.  I was  trying to see a bug list cause it. Looks like the devs have moved on... I went thru the posts and searched to make sure cause I know repeat questions in forums are a pia.  Gonna root tonight bit saw in twrp-q thread about. Updated zips,  is this still the case with 2.4.4.0? Thanks!
