This is what I did, got the LG drivers, installed clockwork mod, no problems, did the terminal emulator steps, no problems. Here is where I messed up I thought AREAROM V3.0 was for the lgl55c, but it's not. So I been trying to get a rom on there or restore back to factory and every attempted results in:

    CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7
    E:Bad boot message
    "recovery "

I've tried using AreaRom Q v2.0 cyan and three different factory restore zips I've found on here.
Any help from a more experienced person would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you SteveMC1492

I rooted my g/fs Optimus Q using the root/recovery method detailed on this forum. It was all pretty easy, running the root and installing recovery using terminal  (I'm no novice to Android modding. Have modded my Droid incredible 2, and galaxy s3 and s4. I'm currently running S4 w/hyperdrive rom) but i cant get CALL to do anything. Whenever I pick an option like backup or wipe and select it, it acts like it's gonna load then just displays nothing but a CWMR Logo. Even when u try to reboot.
I get the same message as you:
    :E bad boot
    Recovery
I can't actually make a backup or flash anything. I either need to restore stock recovery or install a recovery that works, but it's almost impossible to find stuff for this phone.
How did you end up fixing your problem?

I'm also in a bad spot.  I did the hydrorom thing to be able to update my PRL.  Then did the factory reset.  Then downloaded the recv8.zip file.  However, when I try to run it, it says "E: can't open /sdcard/recv8.zip (bad)" then says installation aborted?  I've tried to re-copy the file and I get the same results.
Am I missing a step?  I need this phone for work, so am I just screwed?

EDIT: FIXED - I tried installing the ARQ 2.0 zip again (CYAN I think).  Then the recv8.zip and it worked!  So the phone is back in business!
