One of the most useful tools in Avast mobile security is its firewall. It prevents apps you select from accessing anything off the phone. Great if you are as paranoid as I am.....

What I need to find is an app to reliably sync to my pc - either by wifi or cable - without passing through the cloud which I don't trust.
I have not yet tried Cheetah sync. Anyone using a sync tool they are happy with which does not pass through the web?

      Making Awesome Look Badass
I've made an app using Tasker and it's App Factory plugin.
It's just a simple app that helps you to access reboot and bootloader functions quicker. It also gives you the normal shutdown and quick reboot options. The app has as well the ability to clear your battery stats (deletes /data/system/batterystats.bin), and  my fav: Tru-WiFi (which turns on airplane mode and then turns on wifi.) I use it a lot as I dont keep service on my phone due to no work. I use voice over IP to call and Gtalk to message people. So this shortens some steps for me.
YEAH yeah i hear you "There's widgets 4 dat!" well I like to keep as little as possible on my phone=NO WIDGETS. Yeah they're nice but my phone is small so there's little screen space for my BEAUTIFUL wallpapers lol. This app consolidates those functions into one app.

I'm hoping to build the app further, and add more functions to it, while still trying to keep it as light as possible.
This means if you have ANYTHING you would like to see added to this app please by all means let me know either in a PM here on the forum or through email: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The easiest way for me to add functions is through scripts. So if you know of a script you would like to see added to this app please link me to it!

What I would like to add in v1.5-
    - CIQ disabling for the LGl55C
    - CIQ removal for the LGl55C
    - freeze app function

The app is themed after AndroidArea51 but is not endorsed by the site. This app REQUIRES root permissions. This is to do the following:
-reboot phone (normal, shutdown, recover, bootloader)
    -clear battery stats

    !ATTENTION!

By downloading this app and installing it you understand and agree that it has no (current) affiliation with AndroidArea51.com, including the sites owner as well as its staff, and by using the app you agree that you can not hold I, Wombat (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) creator of said app, liable for any damages done to your device due to the app or its functions. You understand and agree that this app is meant to allow the rooted user to access root level functions quicker and easeir, but does NOT root your phone in itself nor does it have the function to. This app will NOT void your warranty, it will not get you laid, it will not by you lunch, it will not call your mother for you to let her know you're doing well and are ok. This app will however, as stated above, allow quicker access to root level functions. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK, ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID WHEN TRYING OUT NEW APK'S!

Now that i covered the liability part let me say this is a simple app and *should* NOT do any damage to your phone as long as you can currently already reboot into recovery, reboot, shutdown, and reboot into bootloader. This simple makes the process faster. I have tested it on my LGl55c for a week now with no bugs, and on my wifes StraightTalk Samsung Galaxy Precedent.
This app is FREE and hopefully will remain so.
(if you steal this and try to sell it as your own, you are a pathetic loser as this is easily made in tasker.... cheap butt)

Wanna help me out? Sign up for DropBox with this link You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and we BOTH will get an extra 500mb of space.
"How does this help?" you ask? Well, I use my DropBox account to backup all my android projects (ROMS, wallpapers, icons, .apk's, etc.)
So doing this gives me more space to keep all my projects safe and secure!

I've since moved on to WiFi File Explorer, heh. I just started using an app called AppDrawer. I like it so far. Let's me edit the apps in tge app drawer (name, pic , size, font & hide apps). I know I can alrwadu hide apps with ADW, but this just has more options. Also using ADW Launcher EX and WidgetLocker
