So I think I botched my brother's phone but I really want to give it one last shot before I give up and tell him I bricked it. I rooted using a batch file I found for the Slider and it worked perfectly. Installed SU and everything. Next of course was to install recovery and for that I used CWM. Still in the green. Well then I wanted to flash a ROM for him, something basic so he could get used to the rooted way of life. Cyanogen, right? So I did that and now it's stuck in the loading with the green circle going around the android. I can't get into recovery. Home+Vol Down+Power doesn't work and I can't get into recovery mode in any other way because it won't load up. Please help!!!

...What?? I have the LG Optimus Slider for iWireless. I used different guides across the web to root and flash it. Everything worked fine until I went to do the ROM. I guess I forgot to wipe cache and such now that I think about it.

So I see. Any chance of getting into recovery mode to fix it?? Or is there another possible way?

These phones are too easy to brick, but as long as you had a recovery on before that works.

im not sure since probably the cm7 that you've flashed has its own key mapping and all might as well be mix up....try to recovery by using adb

Everywhere I've read says ADB won't read it because it's in the BootLoop. And honestly, I have no clue how to use ADB. No guide I've found clearly states how you're supposed to use it. I've got the developers kit and everything but past that I'm clueless.

Yes, and I suggest learning from this.

I kid of course (or do I?), but as I said these phones are too easy to brick as the stock recovery is neutered and ADB is essentially broken on the stock slider kernel.

Well thanks anyway. Maybe when I get him a new phone, I'll make sure it's easy to root so down the road when it comes time, I won't botch it.

Rooting itself adds nothing. Yes, you can modify things, but honestly how much can you do on the archaic OS that ships on these things. I'm not saying it's unimportant, but it's not that important. In my experience cheapo phones aren't worth it. Need a phone with an actual fastboot method that doesn't involve wiping boot.
And a functional ADB and a board that has a raison-de-etre other than 'cuz i f'in can'.
