There is an easy root for it using a sony rooter but you have to delete and reinstall superuser and it is on a different forum so i won't post a link unless droidhost asks me to I just wish there was an arearom for it

Recovery sure would be great. I don't know if these are touchy or I'm improperly rooted but I've bricked mine 3 times messing with the ROM.

Yeah they are really touchy on what you change and delete I have Titanium Backup installed along with RootAppDelete Titanium Backup makes excellent backups and makes it easy to recover accidentally deleted items and RootAppDelete gives good reccomendations based on color of app red = don't delete orange = delete only with caution and green means go ahead... helped me out alot plus i have ROM Toolbox PROwhich is well worth what i paid for it

my problem is I never know what bricks my phone. I mostly just try to get rid of the google crap. Last time I successfully changed google playstore to the inverted one and then tried removing some other apps like Gmail and maps it bricked and wouldn't boot. I was reading on some other lg phones and it seems that some of the apps have security descriptors built into them, maybe this ifs the case with this phone. I'm still waiting for my replacement, but when I get it I'll install root app delete and see if I can figure out what I'm deleting that might be important to that phone...if I decide to keep it.

I'm a fan of supersu so that's the first thing I do. I remember now that the last thing I did was clean the davlik cache with titanium, so I don't know if it was that or something else.

From information I've gathered over the past week or so, I've learned that the bootloader is locked and performs a signature verification on the boot and recovery partitions. I've sent an email to LG asking them if there's a way to unlock it so that we can get some development going on it...still waiting for a reply from them. Will update once I find something out.

    Edit:
Well LG finally replied to my email and pretty much told me the device doesn't support unlocking the bootloader.

NEVER a good idea to dial "random codes" like this. For all you knew, it auto-bricks the phone.

Unless you KNOW what a code can do, NEVER, EVER dial it.

That secret code is for the elite version of superuser. It allows you to access the app when you have it set to Ghost Mode
