    First and foremost, thank you all for your hardwork!

    I really like how much lighter the phone feels with the Arearom, but since this phone is for my mom, I'd really like to restore the original theme. I'm somewhat new to Android, ADB, rooting, and all that fun stuff, but I know enough to have tried to something that is probably pretty dumb to anyone that knows what they're doing:
    * Flashed Arearom, factory wipe, Dalvik wipe
    * Rebooted into CWM Recovery
    * Mounted /system
    * Used adb shell rm to remove the framework-res.apk, framework.jar, and SystemUI.apk files
    * Used adb push to restore the stock versions of those files

    Needless to say, it was an epic fail and I was stuck on LG screen. In my defense, it was worth a shot!
    Now I got everything running again, but I still don't know how to restore the stock theme.

    Looks like this guy was trying to accomplish something similar:

    Just started using this yesterday, but I must say it is too green. Is there any way we can alter the colors? Like the scrollbars, the color that shows when you can't scroll any further, etc. It's just a lot of... green.
    But if I understood correctly, he ended up using a theme from a different ROM.
    I just want the Arearom with the stock UI.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    well in my opinion this would be the easiest to do and looks very close to stock . use the team centura 1.1 rom and then flash the theme tc trans theme you can find them in the forums and actually if you really wanted to use the area rom custom rom just flash  tc trans theme there may be some apps that still have the old area rom theme but for the most part it will look very close to stock . example framework system ui and some other apps try it out and let me know what you think I think that will be the easiest fastest way
    here is the link to the trans theme and just use file explorer or something similar or use any picture in gallery to change backround pic

    I don't think a centura theme will play very nice with an LG phone...pretty sure it will bootloop....

    OEMs have their own specifoc coding styles, and unless it's pure, 100% google, it won't work.

    That's very kind of you to offer, but I think it would be silly of me to install AreaROM when MateoMod's available. No offense to the AA51 developers or anything, surely they understand the nature of technology is progress. That being said, I posted this before MateoModv2 came out. Actually, before I even knew there was a MateoMod. lol

    And I can't even say that I want a MateoMod with the stock theme, because its theme is one of the greatest things about it. The reason I wanted AreaROM with the stock theme in the first place is because I think that the AA51 theme is a bit out there for a middle aged woman like my mom. That aside, the feature set is awesome, but I wanted something more subtle. A ROM that made the phone better (performance, battery, etc), while maintaining the stock feel to it.

    It is my humble opinion that you have accomplished this quite nicely with MateoModv2. In fact, the only complaint I have in that department is maybe the standard wallpaper? Not that I don't appreciate your artistic creativity, just that, once again, I think it's a touch too edgy for my mom. So if there is something I'd have you do, it'd be to release a version of MateoMod with the stock wallpaper(s) that ship with ICS devices. You could even leave the cool wallpaper you have on there now as the default and just have the stocks as options. Maybe even throw in some live wallpaper? Idk.

    Honestly, though, you really don't have to. It's just a minor thing that I could do myself. Nonetheless, I appreciate your generous offer and all the hard work you put into this in general.

    Really. Thank you. :)

    First off, ALL CAPS + blatant typos + nonsense... kinda makes you seem like a troll.
    Second of all, huh?

    Who or what told you that mateo is longer on here?

    Where is this "everywhere"? Because as far as I know, there are only 2 threads specifically about Mateomod and only 1 of those is for v2.

    TO INSTALL:
    1.) download file
    2.)copy to sd card
    3.) reboot phone to CWM
    4.) do Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, and goto advanced and wipe Dalvik Cache
    5.) select install from sd and select the mateomodv2a4.zip
    6.) wait for it to finish
    7.) REBOOT Phone Now,

    Download Link:
    MateoMod2a5.zip - 127.99 MB

    And moved? I don't think so. Here's what to look for on your screen:

    I don't remember the specific settings or anything anymore because I no longer have this phone. If you search around in the L38C forums you might find some good info. Other than that you may wish to make a post about how to use it for that phone.
