Nice...And another useful terminal command.  Now for that pesky wifi...
I restored my backup so I'm not on the swap/zram kernel anymore, but when I flash it again I'll remember these commands to use to check if everything is running on all 8's...

I don't think you need change that one,.  I believe you only need to change the one the rom controls, but like I said, you might want to ask for another opinion because I usually edit my build.prop through 3C Toolbox whenever I can...

Ha. Think I got it going.  Does that screenshot look right?  I notice my numbers are a little different.  The log for my script checks out OK as well.  Downloaded the Zram Settings Free app but couldn't get the zram status.  The settings tab won't open anything for me.  But it might be because I'm not using the app so I'm gonna disable my script and use the app to enable zram to see if I can get the zram status page you got in your screenshot... But very nicely done Master...very nicely done!!!  And with wifi!  However, I did notice you didn't add my favorite I/O scheduler to the kernel (deadline), ha ha   :D  Now to play around with some settings and see how things go.  Thank you very much for doing this.  If all checks out with you, me and whoever else runs it, I'll add it to the OP.

Still can't open the settings tab in the app.  gonna uninstall, clear caches, reboot and reinstall to see if that helps...

i had a hard time getting it to slide right myself took me a cpl of tries to get it....i enabled swap in the apk as well and left everything else untouched......working on a recovery flash for the script to make it easy for those that cant or dont want to set it in init.d themselves......and the only way i could get wifi work on it was to go back to the first kernel i compiled for it and sorry i didnt have all the I/O schedulers set......

heres my script    You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
its only set for 50 so if you want to change it you can do so either open the zip and change it there or after you install it.......

yup its fine add it to your OP not a problem....and Thank You Grasshopper

Sounds good.  So with your script you don't need to enable zram in the apk?  The script I'm using now enabled it so I didn't need the apk to get it going.  Just flash your zip, right?

Zram kernel is running nicely.  Ran some AnTuTu benchmarks and am getting between 5000 and 5100 consistently, not too bad for only 1.2 GHz and a bloated phone.  The performance results are what you would expect them to be, much better multitasking, no real difference in overall performance either way (due to more cpu cycles), less apps/processes being killed in background, and a little more drain on the battery.  It seems its working as it should (these results using 96mb for zram size and swappiness of 20). I'm playin' around with the swappiness, minfree and other dalvik settings to see what works best with this kernel.

For people who want to easily enable/disable zram (I don't think you can disable with the zram settings app because the script controls, but correct me if I'm wrong) is to just add ".txt" to the script name in the init.d folder, reboot, and it should disable the script, and then to enable just delete the ".txt" and reboot, but again correct me if I'm wrong.  I'll write up stuff in the new zram section of the OP after testing and whenever I get time...

For poll question, my answer would be "don't understand any of it"...lol
