I have a galaxy precedent that I recently rooted and it's running area 3.5 rom my question is if I choose at some point to run a different rom can I flash "overwrite" my current rom or do I need to do a flash to factory rom then reroot and flash to what ever rom I had chosen? also is it normal for area 3.5 rom to use so much power im constantly having to charge my phone,it will use 70-80% overnight in sleepmode I have to pretty much keep it near a charger lol

After you flash a new rom you need to do a wipe data/factory reset after you install the rom that removes the remains of the other rom is not you may have problems which is rare...............

    Ditto.
And cache wipes when flashing mods ontop of roms. [Boot animations, playstation certificates, app packs]
