    Restoring to Stock
Not following these instructions could break your phone.

This is for the Samsung Precedent ONLY.

Odds are if you're reading this, you want to restore your phone to stock factory settings because you broke something.
Don't worry about it.  It happens to everyone.  Just remember what you did to break it and do it different next time.  Here's how you fix it:
Step One - Download Odin: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Odin is a tool that leaked out of Samsung's dev labs many moons ago.  It's cool because it will flash anything you want anywhere you tell it too.  It's scary because it will flash anything you want anywhere you tell it too.  Don't play around with it.
Step Two - Unzip the Rar & install the drivers:
I'm not going to explain how to unzip a rar.  Frankly, if you don't know how to do that or at least how to figure it out, you should find someone who knows what they're doing to fix this phone for you.
This is the Rar contents.  Open the Samsung drivers.

    Step Three - Download Mode:
Shut your phone down.  All the way down.  Like pull the battery out, put it back in, but keep it off.  You need to hold the Volume Down key and the camera key down.  While you're holding them down, hold down the power key as well.  You should be in download mode.  You'll know cause there's a little android digging.

Step Four - Fire up Odin:
Here's the important part.  Open odin BEFORE you plug your phone in.  Use the same USB cord that came with the phone.  Yes, other ones will work but not all USBs were created equal.  Save us both some time and use the factory cord.  When odin recognizes it, you'll see one of the comm boxes turn yellow and say COMM3 or something of the sort.  When this happens, you're going to click the OPS button.  Select the ops file that came with it.  Then press the PDA button and select the PDA file that came with it.  As far as this post is concerned, you're good to go with just those two.  If you REALLY broke something and your phone doesn't boot anymore, you can flash boot, but don't do it until you try without it a couple times and don't get any boot logo anymore.
You should see something like this, with your yellow box in the left corner.

Click start.  At this point it should take a couple minutes at most.  You should see progress on both odin and on your phone.  DO NOT UNPLUG ANYTHING.  When it's done, odin will say pass and your phone should reboot.  It is a known issue that odin will sometimes hang at Set factory.rfs indefinately.  You're going to have to unplug your phone, pull the battery, close odin, and try again.  It should work now.  Make sure that you run odin as admin, as that is sometimes what causes this issue.

If you have any questions, you may contact myself or sandspeed via the live chat.

there is just one thing, it is sticky, if they are running the AR bootloaders to start with, they will need to use the phone and boot sections also...

I'm taking this time to inform everybody here that the HP Pavilion dv6000 with the AMD Athlon processor is the most piece of crap useless terrible fu---ing crap ever.

It's running windows vista, which is itself the most terrible piece of crap ever.

These two piles of crap together have led me to 45 minutes (and counting) of installing the samsung USB drivers. Before I stab somebody with a flat-head screw-driver, I thought I would just vent here.

Follow my guide under cm7.1 rom

If you want you can use arearom

Just change the rom in the directions and ignore vmheap and the build.prop

Droidhost posted the ginger boot leaders under arearom.

I will clean up my howto with that file ob tuesday

for anyone having issues with installing samsung drivers here is what i did. im on windows 8 but should work the same for any windows. go to device manager and find the device that has a yellow ! or ? and right click then update driver and choose the browse my computer option then go to the folder u unzipped with the samsung drivers. ofc if u got the exe this wont work but i downloaded a zip from somewhere with samsung drivers that had like 20 folders in it.

mods i think this may be a good guide for people to follow if they have issues, if someone wants to clean it up and sticky id appreciate just a lil bit of cred.
