It looks and feels the same as before.

Let me get hold of my aunt's cell phone once she gets back from work. She has the Proclaim, too.

EDIT: Alright. There only seems to be 1 change that I can notice. The Kernel version is different from my aunt's unmodified phone's kernel version. And I was using the stock kernel before this update happened.

    Mine is 2.6.35.7-EJ2-CL670540.
    Her's is 2.6.35.7-FB07-CL972632

Let me know. I appreciate help.
Been hearing rumors that it MAY make it harder to root if updated (if not pre-rooted)...

I just got a notification that I have another update. The second since 1/17/13. Update is labeled
    S720C_FB07ToLI02_12Sep2012.
I installed it. I don't know what enhancements it made. Most importantly it did not break root access.

That almost looks like a firmware update... Those *generally* include a few more useless apps, a kernel and a baseband (radio binary). We won't know for sure until we can take a peek inside.

This version is not a new update. I have been running it for months on a rooted phone running on PagePlus and it is what came on my Proclaim out of the box.

I don't know what all it updated but I do know one large improvement.

I had a lot of problem with the data service with this phone. Small attachments in email and MMS and downloads would take FOREVER to finish. One time it took an hour to download a 1mb app. Web browsing was painfu, I would have to turn off and on 3G data to get it to respond. Verizon network is the best in the area and thats why I bought this phone. I could be sitting with 5 bars of 3G service, and the uplink would be blinking every 5 seconds with no response from the downlink. And do you think Straight Talk had an answer??? And I can barely find an answer online.

    Can you feel my pain!?

I've been using the phone since the update and it doesn't hesitate anymore. Speed test showed 1503kbps down and 876kbps up. Before this update, on a good day I might have got 200kbps down, unless it stopped responding.
