I am trying to transfer music files, m3, wma and other files from the Proclaim to a Lenovo twist with Win8. I can view the phone and some files and folders, but when I try to access folders with videos, music and images, I get a "cannot read" error. For the purpose of this discussion, I simply want to transfer my purchased music from my Proclaim to the new computer.

I transferred these files from a Dell Laptop WinXP(Sp3) using copy and paste.

How do I change the permissions if that is necessary? How do I view the (Drive):\Music folder? How do I transfer music files to Win8?

    Thank you
    Sam

Have you tried installing Samsung Kies on your computer. I really don't know much about Windows 8 but from the quick research I did that's what comes up as a possible solution.

When downloading from my phone to my pc I just use a ftp server on my pc (Filezilla is easy to setup), and download an ftp client from the playstore and connect via wifi...  then i can drop the files on my desktop or where ever i please on my local pc...

Its also good to have a ftp client on your phone and some kinda website hosting with ftp access cause then you can just upload whatever to your hosting and have access to it from anywhere in the world.  (example, I just uploaded screenshots of my home screen from my phone for the 'Whats on your homescreen' Forum, and just linked the address from my web hosting.)

You could use multiple services/apps like dropbox and/or photobucket, but i find that this is just easiest for me...
