So I rooted my Samsung Galaxy s3, then flashed CyanogenMod 10.1.3. After some heart stopping moments with the boot screen stuck on the CyanogenMod logo I got it working (flashed the ROM again and installed the Google Apps). Now a new problem has arose. I can't use the camera. No matter what camera app I use. I've searched XDA and all I can find is people who only want to give the vaguest most technobabble filled explanations. It even seems that some solutions don't work for everyone. Unfortunately I don't have a stock recovery img. Thought I did, turns out I didn't. I've been seeing people say is the firmware that's fouled up. That you need the SlimISP_ZH.bin from. The stock firmware to make it work. But I don't have it. I found one that people say to use. But when I try to place it in system/cameradata it says it can't copy the file to that location (using ES file Explorer with root Explorer turned on). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I never knew how much I used the camera till I couldn't  :'(

The newest lollipop ROMs for the Verizon (d2vzw) i535 have working camera, the older CM ROMs like the one you are talking about are hit and miss with getting camera working, do a Google search for "lollipop ROMs for d2vzw" and you'll find many working ROMs, try the AICP, the OctOS or the CM12 by mastamoon or invisiblek(masta started the ROM and invisiblek continued it when masta went to the nexus 6). Liquidsmooth lollipop is another good ROM. But you'll need a CDMA SIM card to get working data, preferably a Verizon 4G SIM if you want everything including the stock MMS to work(there are a couple of steps to get it working after inserting the SIM, I can help you with that if you'd like) otherwise with a non Verizon CDMA SIM you'll have working data but no MMS unless you use a third party MMS app, or hangouts. I can help you with getting everything setup to work correctly.

All d2 variants have been plagued with camera bugs >5.0, comanche included. The recently updated GPU libraries helped a ton, but it still works when it feels like working.

The OctOS from what I understand has the camera and video fixed correctly.
I've yet to try it though, I'm not around WiFi to download it but I'll be giving it a try sometime this weekend when I get a chance to download it. It is supposed to work on all the d2_variants so you may want to try it.

Comanche has it's own changes, but it'd be simple to build.
