Hey! I was excited to have finally found something to work with the SCH-S968C! However, after installing this ROM, I had no signal. So I did my recovery to my stock version (4.1.2), and still no signal. I also wiped all my caches again and reinstalled my backup a second time. Still no signal.Any suggestions?

Check your IMEI. It sounds like you neglected to back up your modem before flashing :P.

This same thing happened to me in the past. If you haven't already fixed this, go to Settings... then Back up and reset...  then select Factory data reset... After doing the Factory reset, you will have to root the phone again, install a custom recovery again, and then you re-install your backup since it should have all your apps and settings and such. This process worked for me back in December!

Ahhhhh!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have NO IDEA how long I've been trying to figure out how to fix this. There's no telling how many times I wiped and reset with CWM. Such a simple fix! Thank you!

I'm glad I was able to help. I was fortunate that I had towelroot and CWM Touch 6.0.4.5 image stored on the external mini-SD card along with my backup. Made it easy to restore back to a working state like it was before I installed a ROM and then the phone had no idea that it was supposed to be a cellular phone. (No signal.)

Factory reset only formats /data. It won't effect root or recovery, since those are installed at the system level.

As motorhead said, the factory reset doesn't remove root or your custom recovery, it only removes things you've put in data like downloaded user apps, contacts, pics, videos and such. Factory reset only removes user installed stuff, basically it just puts you back to what the phone had when you first pulled it out of the box(it doesn't touch root or the custom recovery).

But the reason I'm posting is to say that the factory reset in CWM/TWRP should have gotten you the same results as the factory reset in systems settings does, unless there is something that gets placed in data/media partition, factory reset in CWM/TWRP doesn't wipe the data/media partition, which would explain why factory reset in recovery didn't work but the factory reset in system does. Hmm, that's interesting, I wonder what could have possibly been in the data/media that would interfere with mobile service/data? @motorhead? Can you possibly explain why this is? It doesn't make much sense to me that something in data/media would cause this and need to be wiped.

If you read the first post and paid attention you'd have seen that you needed a CDMA SIM for the ROM to work(including service, not just data, I'll correct my young Padawan and get him to edit his post to save future confusion for those that come across this).

Stable rom for samsung galaxy S3 (SCH-S968C) note: You must have a sim card in for 3g data!!!!! (can get one free from verizon store)
Download a camera app until the fix is applied to fix stock camera

Rom download link: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Gapps download link (get the android 5.0 gapps): You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

**NOTE: Stock sms may not work if you're using a sim other than verizon 4g**
Update and edit your post, this ROM requires a SIM for service period, not just for 3G, and the issues aren't with SMS, they are with MMS, and it does them no good to use the Verizon 4G SIM to get working MMS if you don't tell them how they get it working, from what you've posted you're leading them to believe that just using the SIM will make their stock MMS work when that isn't the case, you aren't posting the other two steps involved with fixing MMS, also update it so that it takes them to the newer ROM that has camera fixed. You're confusing users with inaccurate posts, get the facts straight before you post something. Fix this please, you'll probably save many users from messing their phones up when they try things to get it working after flashing and not knowing that the issue is the SIM. Users can't afford to mess their phones up trying to follow inaccurate instructions. I'll give you credit though, you tried, just not quite right.

He is right. I've messed my phone up many times. I have an s3 but it is from Sprint. It's more hardheaded than any other carriers devices but I've finally got root, custom recovery, and then a long time later finally got my device a custom Rom. I'd have to say it changed constantly and I'm now using the latest lollipop edition thanks to vanir. They have tuna in the $3 for Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile(I think or it was another company). Android 5.1.1 nuclear mistake by vanir. Almost all puff the bugs have been worked out and they have three versions. There is a post older in xda somewhere.

See. They also haven't separated the devices in updates yet due to how they have the site set up. So that's why the Verizon one is showing up here.

How are AT&T and T-Mobile(GSM) sharing ROMs with Verizon and Sprint(CDMA)? Are they switching Rilblobs or just flashing the ROM and running with it? Are they having to edit build.prop or not?

So you mean the ROM you are talking about is the same ROM, just built for each different device? That's not the same thing as I was saying, the way you stated it implied that they all can use the exact same ROM.

Try Exodus, it's even faster ;).
    For d2vzw? Or for d2spr?

Ok, have you tried OctOS yet? I still haven't had a chance to download it and try it but from what one of the testers tells me its super stable and thoroughly tested with everything working as it should(including camera). Its a d2lte ROM(I thought the d2lte stuff was dropped at the end of last year though)

Factory reset phone like normal, flash the rom first, and then gapps. In that precise order!!!

Remember I couldn't hit send on sms with a trimmed sim.

I'm going to test the OctOS ROM today and I will let you guys know. But remember, don't let someone elses opinion sway your own. You may switch to a ROM I love personally, but by doing that you may be missing out on a ROM you love somewhere. I strongly encourage that you try each and every ROM for yourself.
