Stable rom for samsung galaxy S3 (SCH-S968C) note: You must have a sim card in for 3g data!!!!! (can get one free from verizon store)
Download a camera app until the fix is applied to fix stock camera

Rom download link: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Gapps download link (get the android 5.0 gapps): You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Factory reset phone like normal, flash the rom first, and then gapps. In that precise order!!!

**NOTE: Stock sms may not work if you're using a sim other than verizon 4g**
Update and edit your post, this ROM requires a SIM for service period, not just for 3G, and the issues aren't with SMS, they are with MMS, and it does them no good to use the Verizon 4G SIM to get working MMS if you don't tell them how they get it working, from what you've posted you're leading them to believe that just using the SIM will make their stock MMS work when that isn't the case, you aren't posting the other two steps involved with fixing MMS, also update it so that it takes them to the newer ROM that has camera fixed. You're confusing users with inaccurate posts, get the facts straight before you post something. Fix this please, you'll probably save many users from messing their phones up when they try things to get it working after flashing and not knowing that the issue is the SIM. Users can't afford to mess their phones up trying to follow inaccurate instructions. I'll give you credit though, you tried, just not quite right.

Remember I couldn't hit send on sms with a trimmed sim.
That was on your phone, no one else has had that issue. Any CDMA SIM works and a VZW 4G works the best.

No it's different made cairns of the Rom for each type of device
So you mean the ROM you are talking about is the same ROM, just built for each different device? That's not the same thing as I was saying, the way you stated it implied that they all can use the exact same ROM.
I no longer use my s3 anymore.  It was downgraded to cm11 and given to little stepbrother since i bought myself the s6 edge but its a neat little rom and i didnt make it. Im not at that skill yet. I was saying that there are different roms for different varients due to d2lte given up by cm team beacuse vanir is a cm based rom

If you are talking about the AICP in the title of this thread then you should have tethering and hotspot built into your ROM in your system settings>more>tethering and portable hotspot

Anyone else having trouble getting MTP or PTP to work for connecting the phone to Windows 10?

It's working fine on WIn 7, so it's not the phone or cable's issue.

I've installed the drivers from Samsung - still getting an "install class is not present or is invalid" on MTP.

Update - just got the drivers  1.5.55.0 from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login - the ones on Samsung's support site were older.  These don't work either.

Update - looks like it may be affecting others with the phone - may not be an issue with this ROM:

I haven't used windows 10 yet because I'm sure that with it being a new OS then they haven't discovered all the conflicts with the things that are done with various android devices.

I'm waiting until the bugs have been found and fixed before I upgrade to 10.

I'm not familiar 10 but is there a way to install your drivers in windows compatibility mode like the other windows versions have had to do with various programs? If there is a compatibility mode then try it and see if it works.

I flashed the latest nightly of AICP after downgrading from H2 to H1. Everything works great except the camera. No matter what camera app I use i get the cannot connect to camera error message. So far I've tried the CM camera fix app and have also tried copying all the camera and gallery files I could find from my wife’s S3 that has a working camera. I have also tried the latest CM 12 nightly.  The camera does work on the stock ROM.

Go to teamoctos.com and get the newest build of OctOS d2vzw/d2ltevzw(it will be listed as either). It has the patch for stagefright built in and the camera works, I haven't found any issues with it, I know the guys that build it, they do good work, they are a bit ahead of all the other d2vzw teams. I think you'll be happy with it, try it out.

I haven't had any issues with drivers and Windows 10. Also, it's really not a good idea to install drivers in compatibility mode. Is this an issue with 32bit or 64bit? Are users with this issue running the RTM build or insider builds? This information is important.

Regarding this ROM, I found it rather ironic that the developers included an anti-piracy module yet it has a built-in ad blocker. The anti-piracy thing is rather redundant as well since all one has to do is change the package name and rebuild the APK. The module uses a hard coded blacklist instead of doing some sort of heuristics check or something along those lines.

I find it pretty annoying to be honest. Don't get me wrong. I believe developers deserve to make money from their hard work, especially if they deserve it. However, if I purchase an app that requires constant network access in order to check a license, I don't feel that using a tool to patch it is all that bad. Also, the developer should figure out some sort self defense for the module as well since it can be easily disabled by modifying "Settings.apk".

Alright, so I talked to the creator of the piracy framework. He told me it's more a deterrent (as you found out, it's not terribly hard to circumvent) than an "end all, be all".

In any case, support your devs. We host a few play store devs here, in fact. Many of us do this as a self-paying hobby.

      Love to Modify Android.
After reading a lot of the comments about Camera issues, or MMS..  I wanted to let everyone know that i'm using Cyanogenmod 12.1   I have not had hardly any issues with this ROM.

    Benefits
SMS and MMS work out of the box (No Need for APN Fixes)
Camera and Video camera work out of the box
Has built in proximity sensor wake (i use to save power button)
Has built in nightly version downloader (just have to use TWRP Recovery to install)
STABLE - It has been very reliable.. only 1 or 2 freezes..

Oh of course. Like I said, I believe developers should earn money from their hard work if they want it, especially independent developers. I was more or less talking about patching apps that I've purchased in order to shave down network usage and to be able to use them offline if need be.
