I replaced my straight talk LG L55c with an unlocked att s4 active. I rooted it to remove the ugly att splash screen and bloatware (using titanium). I just had att software update try to do what I assume is the jellybean update (it took about 30 mins via wifi) the update failed! Has anyone else had thi
s issue? Is it due  the root I did (active root)? Or could it be that I am using it in straight talk?

    Thanks in advance.

So I should just manually install? Or can I unroot it and allow it to update? Is the 4.3 update worth it, or should I wait for kit-kat?

unless you can find just the update zip and install it that way...or return to all stock no root, stock recovery thats the only way to update it....

I usedvactive root to root it. Stock rom still. Only did the rooting for non essential things. But is it worth the time or should I just go to kit kat when samsung releases it?

that depends if you want to wait it may be a while before they release KK.......i know the centura runs smoother on the test JB we have runnin on it now.............if you can get rid of root and do a factory reset it might install the update...........

Ok. I unrooted using the the full unroot in super su. That didnt do it. So since I already had backed up the device in titanium, I did a full reset. Att software update says theres an update, downloads and reboots etc and then fails. Could this be because its unlocked? Kies doesnt show that there is an update for my phone either. Maybe its because im using straight talk?

    Update:
I am still having no luck. I tried forcing the update by downloading it manually > move to /data/fota and unrooting. Did nit get the continue ungreyed. Tried moving to sdcard and renaming to .zip alk yhat did was to cause my phone to partialy reset (still had apps installed but had to re-setup my google account etc) still have 4.2.2 and att software update consistently says update available. If I put my phone on wifi, the updater will block me from using it for 30 mins while "downloading" then it exits and 30 mins later will restart. I'm out of ideas lol. Ive never used odin, if someone can point me to a guide I would very much appreciate it.

then it looks like you wont get the update because u switched to ST.............there should be a app in system named foto there is in the centura jb that im working on.......or look for a crazy named app .........that handles the updates......no sure if u have the same or not but if you do u can delete it and you shouldnt get the update push any more.............make sure u have a good backup before u delete any thing.................also check the web for any info on how to stop the update...that would be your first place to look..............

Yeah theres an app that starts with wy in there I remember reading about that. I was kibda hoping I could get it just because I fear what will happen with 4.4 or 5 when theyvcome about. My friendbhas an att sim I was considering borrowing itbfor the update to see if that was the issue.
