There's many options you can try: Bin4ry's ICS/JB root method over at XDA, SRSRoot, Poot, Cydia Impactor, etc. These are generally universal root methods that have been known to work on a lot of devices running ICS (provided that those methods haven't been patched).

Unfortunately (If ZTE did something logical), the ID number says this is a GSM version of the Majesty, which has been rooted but has a locked bootloader (Meaning no CWM... Yet...)

Oh... I see now. I thought the Majesty was the 768C but it's not.

The Midnight looks likes a souped up Z990.

I have tried everything to root my ZTE Midnight. KINGOROOT Does not recognize my device. I have installed ZTE 3g android drivers, I have adb. Still no device recognition. is there a chance that I don't have the correct drivers?

you may need to reboot the pc if you already havnt......or go to device manager and see if its listed there .if so try to update the drivers from there...........also make sure usb debugging is checked in settings and unknown sources................or try another usb cable and or port

I followed the instructions on this page to root my ZTE Midnight, and the Kingroot does not reconize my device, I have tried to install ZTE Mass Storage Drivers , but it says i have to update my drivers and pay 30 bucks , same when downloading Adb as well... I disabled all security and firewalls,  PLEASE HELP ME  i cannot use my android phone without this storage because these stupid phones have no option to put apps, music, ect on the sd card, it keeps saying phone storage low !!!  i have a 16 sd card , but its useless if I cant choose to put apps on that storage,,, help please ..  will i have to pay to update my drivers for this to work ?

I just rooted my Zte Mustang after a couple months of trying the computer and non computer methods, I used a program called Master Root.apk.
It is all imI'm cChinese so I downloaded a translater app but it worked beautifully in about 20 seconds and only took 1 try!  Super easy app and I recommend it.  After root you may want to download and install supersu American version to replace the Chinese one!
